Oops, I made the incorrect assumption that all e-IPS panels were 6-bit with e-IPS being the budget IPS panel and all. Didn't know my 2209WA's were 8-bit. I knew the backlighting was different.

There have been so very few e-IPS with true 8bit that you are for all intents and purposes correct. The 2209WA was one of the first if not the first e-IPS. The ASUS PA238Q was another that had an 8bit panel and a 10bit LUT. I think since then that outside of NEC and EIZO and if under $400CAD cost, anything with an e-IPS panel and a LED backlight has been 6bit +AFRC. It works very well... maybe better than some true 8bit S-IPS panel monitors from 6 or 7 years ago.

How do you feel about the U2713HM for $519, is it good for color sensitive work?NewsyL wrote: ↑There have been so very few e-IPS with true 8bit that you are for all intents and purposes correct. So would the 2209WA actually have better quality in color than the 2412M?

I was looking at monitors for Black Friday / Cyber Monday, one of them was the U2913WM but I cast it aside since Blizzard games won't run on 2560x1080 resolution (they claim it offers unfair tactical advantages).cross2010 wrote: ↑Comments on the Dell ultra sharp 29" going for 479?
