I at 400 could get a 1440p ips screen... but I already have one and would like a smooth one too. A 27" 1440p ips and a lightboost next to each other is that a good idea
Maybe a 24" will be best to save money

Fantastic idea for a thread!
Anyone saw any good deals for touchscreen IPS monitors? I would like to pick a 24" one that I could use with Windows 8.

I'm hoping to get the Dell 23" U2312HM for about $180 (same price as last year BF/CM).
But I'm also keeping an eye on the following 23"-24" monitors
Samsung S24C570
ASUS VS239H
LG 24EA63V
ASUS VS24AH (wish list)
ASUS PA248Q (wish list)

Staples will have a 27'' LG IPS monitor for $199 on Black Friday:
http://www.redflagdeals.com/flyers/stap ... ge=5#flyer
For those of you who are deciding between 24'' 16:10 monitor (Dell U2412M for example) and 27'' 16:9 1440p monitor (Dell U2713 or Asus PB278Q - which is currently on sale at Staples for $549), here are some interesting points I found:
The 27'' is only slightly larger in height but quite a bit wider. Pixel size on the 27'' is 0.233mm vs 0.27 on the 24''. If you don't have very good eyesight, I would suggest either get the 24'', or get the 27'' but use higher DPI settings in Windows (though personally I don't like high DPI in Windows, everything looks strange).
Edit: If you use Windows 8, apparently it handles scaling and high DPI much better than Windows 7. So the comment above might not apply

I'm looking at getting a 27" monitor, but could care less about the korean 1440p ones, so please don't tell me all the wonderful benefits of it..lol
So far Tigerdirect has the AOC 27" for $189
Staples has LG 27" for $199
and FS has the HP 27" for $199
which is the better monitor between all 3? Being used for graphic design and gaming.

For graphic design an IPS one would be better. Better color and viewing angle. I think the one at Staples is IPS.bubbabyte wrote: ↑I'm looking at getting a 27" monitor, but could care less about the korean 1440p ones, so please don't tell me all the wonderful benefits of it..lol

Just got home with the 27" LG from staples.
There is a reason it is a cheap price. Gamma is horrible, options suck, even the packaging and contents were sad. Light bleed in 1 corner, and it was a bit of a pain to set up.
I bought it and an ASUS MX239. I feel like it is comparing a Infiniti to a Kia.
The LG is going back first thing in the morning.

Its nice to be important, but more important to be nice.
