Which sound card are you using ?
- 1/8" to Toslink cable - not possible
- What I did was use my 5.1 input to my receiver and connect up 3 1/8"->RCA cables, worked well but it wasn't pretty.
- Best option is either go HDMI, through onboard vidoe or a gfx card that support audio out over HDMI.
- 2nd option is straight Toslink (optical) out with 5.1 support from your on-board sound card.

Connecting PC audio to home theater
At the moment I have my PC connected to my audio receiver with a 1/8" to RCA cable which only gives me stereo sound through my 5.1 speakers. I find that this makes voices sound very low, and music very high so I have to continually adjust the volume.
My first question is, if I connect it using digital audio will this problem go away?
My second question is if its possible to get a 1/8" to Toslink cable (since im already using the coaxial input on my receiver for my PVR). If it is possible where can I get one? and will this method give proper digital audio for a 5.1 setup?
Thanks in advance!
