Looks like Sea of Thieves released another 10,000 Xbone alpha invites, but I still haven't gotten one :(
I see that, 3 days this weekend, I cant wait to see what they've added since E3.

Geez this is supposed to be the game that saves the Xbox franchise. Is it really only in Alpha?

This certainly marks the first time I've seen someone think Sea of Thieves is going to be the game that "saves" Xbox.

Sea of Thieves isn't even on casual gamers radar and I've never heard of anyone saying it has to save the Xbox brand or something.

Tongue in cheek my friend. But still it's no secret that Microsoft have been hyping Sea of Thieves for awhile. I mean what other games do they have coming out? They have Sea of Thieves, Crackdown and.. Sea of Thieves? LOL

Trust me I have more games to play than their are hours in a day but we're half way through the year and they've only released one game (Halo Wars 2) ?

I don't want to make this another dick swinging competition between console owners, so I'll just say that y'all are sleeping on State of Decay 2 if you think Sea of Thieves and Crackdown (aside from the usual suspects) are the only exclusives worth a damn.

As if any of these games you guys mentioned so are are going to do as well as Forza 7 smh. Was that what you meant by a usual suspect?

I consider Halo/Gears/Forza the usual MS suspects, yeah...

State of decay is a fine and very fun game. This is coming from someone who typically shies away from horror and zombie games mainly because it's not just another mindless Zombie game. There's a lot of depth there with base building and keeping your survivors alive. Unfortunately it's still a niche title. Not to mention that SoD 1 released as an XBLA game for $20. SoD 2 will be retailing for $60 I believe which will be putting it in direct competition with other AAA games. Not sure how it will fare under those circumstances.

As for Halo Wars 2. The original HW was a very very fun game. Definitely deserving of a sequel but that was back in 2009. Halo franchise seems to have lost a lot of steam since then. HW 2 online PC community seems to have died. Not sure about console. I bought the ultimate edition. The cutscenes are amazing and the story is better than Halo 5 imo but I haven't gotten very far. Just played a few missions to get a feel for the game.

I've got high hopes for SoD so I really hope it can deliver.I played the first one on 360 and it was janky AF but still a very good premise, and I really hope the larger funding and greater expectations mean that they can deliver on a more expansive, better crafted, more polished experience.

As for Halo Wars 2.. man, it's a weird thing for MS to resurrect that considering where the RTS genre is right now. What were they thinking with that? Mind you, I've only played the beta for HW2 which did not impress me at all, and I never really understood the appeal of a console RTS. I think there's still an opportunity to pivot though, and turning it into a DOTA type MOBA or a turn based strategy game like XCom would probably get me on board a bit more...

I actually turned around on Halo Wars 2, I played halfway through the game and grew incredibly frustrated with some glitchs and the difficult learning curve and quit playing, I came back to it however (since I was only a few missions from the end) learned how to properly use each unit and micromanage my guys and the game really started to shine. Then the campaign abruptly ended with a cliffhanger ending. I dinked around with the multiplayer for a few months, Firefight is really fun if you just have like half an hour or something but the real meat of the game is in its Skirmish mode.

Its actually a really fun RTS game and a pretty substantial improvement over the first. They have done a really nice job supporting it with new heroes being released monthly and new missions just dropping this week I believe. If time would allow it I would love to play that game from the beginning again in legendary mode, legendary mode but I dont think I'll have time and that time would probably be better spent on my backlog. I will be checking out the new missions that just released though and Im actually quite excited (also a bit annoyed it costs extra) for the covenant expansion pack releasing this fall.

I dont play a ton of RTS games anymore and this isnt on the same level of Starcraft or even Warcraft 3 but as a huge fan of Halo I ended up really enjoying this game.

Finished Wolfenstien over the weekend and Im totally mixed on it. I absolutely loved the theme and setting and the way the game's story is told but I thought the story itself was a little weak.

The gameplay was mostly below average for me, the difficulty spikes on the hardest setting were frustrating, the game was mostly a cakewalk except for a few frustrating gunfights including the final boss which at least on hard may have been one of the worst bosses I've ever experienced, the combination of being a complete bullet sponge with the fire and limited visibility made it cheap and difficult. The only way I beat it was to exploit the idiotic AI which cannot seem to track you when you change locations.

Im glad I played it through, it definitely had some really cool moments, butI'm only mildly interested in the sequal after playing this, I'll give it a spin when it hits the 10$ range like I did with this one.

New details on the next iteration of Xbox One's dashboard. By my count, this seems like the third major revision.. the first version sucked, they improved upon it, then made improvements to the guide, and I hope the new additions can allow us to make a more clutter-free, easy experience.

No details on the updated avatars though...

I loved the blades UI from the early years of the 360 and I bet it'd be a hit if they brought it back. It was such a simple interface that was efficient and snappy with that awesome satisfying sound when you scroll through them "whu whu whu whu"
