contact lense bought more than a year ago
I bought several boxes of contact lenses from a small optical store about 2 years ago. They are not comfortable and cause eyeball pain. So I stopped using them and still have 4 boxes left. I paid about 60 per box (I have astigmatism). Do you think I can exchange for another brand or type. Or an I unreasonable as I bought them long time ago?

You may have better luck going directly to the manufacturer than the optical store you bought them at. Yes, I think returning them to place of purchase after a year is unreasonable.

Throw 'em out and suck up the loss. Two years is a ridiculous time to wait before asking for an exchange. Definitely unreasonable to expect anything.
Good luck with your search for more comfortable eye gear.

I emailed the manufacturer and will see what they say.

Too cheap to do a proper fitting with an optometrist? Lesson learned IMO.

I thought contact lended had a 2 year expiry date usually- the ones i have here the dates do not go past 2013 and I got there 1-2 years ago.
You should always get trial pairs from the optician first. the place I went to for a fitting they gave me 4 different pairs to try...unfortunately none of those helped...so back to my original rx.
