there are contacts for astigmatism. they just cost quite a bit more.
i have astigmatism too and my ophthalmologist was never involved during the phase when i was getting contacts

your prescription already indicates astigmatism. if i recall correctly its the cylinder (cyl.) number on your prescription

i use acuvue oasys for astigmatism.
