They aren't supposed to, I'm pretty sure that would go against the Canadian contest laws. All participants must have equal chance at winning. For some contests you must sign up for the newsletter to be entered successfully, but in those cases its always explicitly indicated on the entry page. Otherwise it shouldn't influence the odds.

Some will attempt to call again, some will email you others will just move on to the next winner if it was a contest. It all depends on the rules and the sponsors preference.

Why did you enter it if you didnt want it? There are plenty of people who would like to win.

I enter a lot of contests....lately probably 40-50 a day....dunno if that's the average for people in here or not. Some I enter for myself, some I enter friends and family into if I think they'd like the prize. If I hadn't just bought a computer I might have kept the iMac and tried it out, but couldn't hold off buying a new one on the chance that I'd win. :p I've kept most of the stuff I've won here....won a PS3 60Gb from Hershey, passes to the Dark Knight from Crush, gift card for Moxies, the iMac, and $1000 from Mars. Right now I'm entering more stuff for appliances and whatnot to put in a house when I buy one next year, or sell for the downpayment. :p
