How does this series compare with the 4K Sammy lineup Costco is selling for around the same pricing? Never owned a Vizio before. Looks like the thing is resting on giant paperclips.

Check out the rtings site ... it's an awesome website:

The MU6300 is Samsung's entry-level 4k LED TV. It doesn't have fancy features such as local dimming or wide color gamut, but it has a lower input lag than the Vizio. While the MU6300 deals with upscaling of lower resolution content a little better than the M Series 2017 and has a more intuitive set of smart features, it's usually slightly more expensive. Overall, the Vizio offers better value for money.

is the LG 65UJ6300 worth the extra $100? it's $1599 at costco.

Not sure it worth 700$ more, that's 150% of the M Price.
The P-series are called poor-man's OLED. No one's ever tried to compare the M-series to OLED.

Nope, LG's reputation has been pretty bad the last few years (phone boot problems and last year "fake" 4k). The reviews on that model is average at best. You're better off with Vizio M series or Samsung 6200.

I bought the 2016 model m65-d0 last Black Friday for 1599$ from Costco. Love that it came with a tablet.

I wouldn't compare the P series with OLED either.

This might confuse others since 2017 model does NOT come with a tablet. Vizio seems to be trying to increase the difference between M/P series this year so 2 notable cuts are the tablet and the dimming zones (drop to 32 vs 64 last year). Tho they did upgrade elsewhere so overall the 2017 model is probably still better than 2016 (unless you're using it in a very bright room).
