[Costco] $20 voucher for Costco membership signup

I did a Google search for Costco, and clicked on the sponsored link for Costco, and it brought me to their membership page, with an offer for $20 voucher for Costco.ca if you sign up for a new membership.

https://www.costco.ca/membership-offer.html

It doesn't apply to me since I'm already a Costco member, but if you're looking to join, this may be a decent incentive to do so.

There's no better time to
become a COSTCO MEMBER
It's about quality you can see and feel, brands
you know and love, and service you can trust.
Become a member today and get a
$20 Costco.ca online voucher.*

I just renewed last week so it wouldn't apply to me regardless?

To be correct, you will receive a $20 voucher instead of getting $20 off your membership.

Thanks for sharing! I would suggest changing the title though as it's not actually $20 off the cost of membership - it's a $20 voucher for shopping online at costco.ca.

technicalities, $20 is $20.... if you get a membership and don't spend $20, you're an idiot.

You can only spend it online, and costco.ca items are often (usually?) more expensive than in-store. So be careful what you spend it on.

You don't even need a membership to order online.

If you can wait there have been better deals. I think Costco themselves have a better promotion but I got one in June through Groupon.

The deal was $60 (same price as membership) with additional $60 worth of freebies and coupons. If I recall there was $10 cash card for your first purchase and free things like coffee and chocolate covered almonds (each worth aprx. $15) and a $20 coupon for online orders.

And if it's your first Groupon there's usually a $10 discount or credit to your account on future purchases.

Of course, such deals are always for new memberships only.

It's an online voucher, so whatever you buy would be cheaper in store with some exceptions.

Ya, I was waiting for that Groupon deal again. I imagine you might also be able to use a groupon promo code on top of it. Here's the last one though... ( https://www.groupon.com/deals/costco-me ... 4-national )

C$60 for a one-year Gold Star membership package (C$118.98 total value) for new members

One-year Costco Gold Star Membership (C$60 value)
Free membership card for a spouse
C$10 Costco Cash Card
Free Kirkland Signature milk chocolate almonds (C$14.99 value)
Free Kirkland Signature whole bean coffee (C$13.99 value)
C$20 off when you spend C$100 or more on Costco.ca

Instead you can just walk in to any Costco store and tell the membership desk that you want to use the $20 free gift card promo to enroll in new membership
They will happily honor and give you $10 x2 costco gift cards along with the membership card
*You should be a new member to Costco and should not have a active costco membership or expired membership with in last 3 months

This is part of the referral program. If you refer someone, you and your friend get a $10 gift card each. In this case, you get both gift cards

I signed up online 6 days ago and was supposed to get a $10 cash card. I didn't get it when I picked up my membership card the next day. I assumed it would come in the mail.
Guess I'd better keep all the documentation for a while.
