Can someone help me decide which Michelline X-ice tire would be the best choice from Costco? This is for a small hyundai.
205/55/R16 XL 94H for 159.99 per tire
205/55R16 91H for $214.99 per tire

It seems like the the XL has a HIGHER maximum load 14777 vs 1356 and it has a longer treadlife warranty. I gather the XL is supposed to be for a SUV or a heavier car but is there any downside putting those on my lilttle hyudai and saving $55 plus tax per tire?
Judging by the price difference for the same tire, im pretty sure the higher priced tire is a runflat. Runflat tires are for vehicles that are not equipped with a spare and allow the vehicle to be driven a short distance with no air. If your looking on Costco.ca, check the description for RFT.

The other one is not a rft.
Is there a downside of putting the XL on my small car?

Anyone got Michelin Xi3 for a 2018 Accord EX-L? The regular tire specs are 225/50/r17... Costco online shows $200 per tire + install ($60) + levy ($16) + HubCentric Steelies x4 ($70/wheel) = 1156 + tax (on top i guess?)....kinda crazy!!! Can i put on different tires? First time buying winters so some help is appreciated. :D
Downsize to 16" tires like wingman siad.
You are buying steel rims anyway. Not like you are keeping the original 17" alloy rims in winter.

You can getting traction with narrow tires on ice and cheaper on tires and probably another $5-10 off each steel rims.

I wish Costco would deliver the rims to the warehouse instead of to my house. I'd rather just get it all done with the appointment at their shop. I'll try calling tomorrow.

Simply otherwise will win this round, that is for sure.

Yes, you can get a 16" rim and get 16" winter tires.

Go to tiresize.com and use their tire size calculator to see which 16" setup is the closest to your 17".

pneusarabais.com pricematched Costco and gave me a $15 discount, and shipping is free, making it slightly cheaper than Costo, and it's a local shop. They will have my money on October 12 for my Michelins.

I prefer to buy from Costco even if they are slightly more expensive than other places due to the excellent warranty which is indeed honoured unlike other retailers.

Same thing happened to a bunch of Pirelli tires once the free install was up. It magically all had stock.

is that really true? Why would they ship the rims to your house for a wheels package...
