[Costco] 65" Haier 4K[3,840 x 2,160] LED TV - $749.99 - UHD

I just saw this tv at the Calgary, Rockyview Costco location.

Seems like a good deal for a budget 4k television, similar to the 55" that is discussed in another thread.

Online at Costco the price is 829.99. The extra 80 dollars covers the "free" shipping.

Can anyone confirm is the power plug the 3 prong type and is it detachable? On the 55 it wasn't detachable and it was 2 prong only

2 prong, fixed plug.

MENU 1147, you get into the service menu and you can see the panel model, then google it. The main board is also listed, some Chinese brand.
Panel information:

this panel is definitely a Samsung and almost certainly VA... SPVA in fact. Earlier in the thread an owner found the panel # to be LSC650FN04 in the factory settings.
Can't find exactly that#, but LSC650FN05 is detailed here:

Mine is on the wall, but measuring between the bolt holes I'd say 47"-48".
Calibration suggestion:

I was getting some serious visible horizontal lines at default settings. Went through the calibration setup suggested here (different model of TV, but still Haier and menu options are nearly identical)

and they went away. Thought it was going to be a dealbreaker. Big difference now actually. I'm using this connected to my living room PC but i haven't had a chance to check the lag some people are reporting.

Now I feel stupid for buying the 65 1080p back at the beginning of the year when it was the "hot deal".

$50 more for 4k, yeah, I wouLd have signed up right away.

Edit: Damn, and an extra HDMI too! Way to kick me when I'm down.

A feature my current TV has and I would like to have again is variable volume output.

I don't play PS4 at the same sound level compared to TV watching for example, so I don't have to change volume as often.

According to 55 inch thread, this Haier TV does not have variable volume output unfortunately...

I know, this is super annoying. I had to buy a soundbar and sell my old audio setup. It was super frustrating.

I went looking for the 65" today in Kitchener... no stock yet. I'll keep checking back daily as I think i'd like to go with that one vs the 55" (which they have lots of stock of in Kitchener).

That is insanely cheap for a 65" 4K TV. With the additional 3 year warranty for $60.. ..this is a no brainer. Anybody see this in Durham region or scarborough/Markham? ???
