which is approximately equal to no charge for installation $70/4= $17.5 =~ $15+tax

i think it is a hit and miss for installs.

they were able to nick all 4 of my rims... they were bone stock rim of 15" in diameter.

Purchasing new tires in Canada = total rip off. Doesn't matter where you buy them. I've been buying mine in the US for years now, saving at least 50%.

Tirerack.com is a good place to start. Sears will have buy 3 get one free type of sales fairly often. For my SUV, the Costco Bridgestone Duelers for $170 each (plus install, less rebate) would work out to be under $120 each installed.

Purchasing new tires in Canada = total rip off. Doesn't matter where you buy them. I've been buying mine in the US for years now, saving at least 50%.

While I agree US in general is cheaper when it comes to tires; however, if you are just going down for just a tire replacement, i would suggest you weight in the time travelling back and forth, waiting at the borders (both going and coming back), and consumption of gas.

Includes the Costco 5 yr warranty, free tire repairs and tire rotation every 10,000km. Bridgestones are generally less expensive than Michelins. I believe the Michelin rebate will follow in Oct, at least that's what happens every year.

I want to sell my RX300 shortly (probaly next spring), but need to get new tires...did you find any other decent tires for cheaper?

Make sure that you are checking with small local tire shops too! I know around here, I have always had great luck with Northumberland Tire in Port Hope, and Brighton Tire in, well Brighton of course.

Both these places have great prices, and great service. I got a set of Firestone Destination A/T for the wifes Grand Cherokee for $660cnd installed. Tirerack.com at the time was $145usd per tire before shipping and duty. I also got a set of Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo for $920cnd installed on my old Sierra, and Tirerack.com was around $200usd per tire before shipping and duty.

Just saying there are good prices to be had if you take the time to call around.

Michelin Tire sale starts Oct 4th, the day after Bridgestones ends.

Costco USA warranty and flat repairs are good in Canada too, so that's one huge reason to shop there. Yeah, it's crazy how much we get ripped off for tires here in Canada.

You forgot to mention that balancing is free as well for next 5 yrs. Anywhere else you go that is @ least $60..So Costco is way to go..

I think the Alenza is a great 3 season replacement for the RX300. Don't expect strong winter performance - probably one of that tire's weaker points.
The Goodyear Triple tread performs well all 4 seasons. Expect to pay a nice premium for it though.
