[Costco/Amazon]Vizio M49-C1 4K tv (49 inch) - sold out

Sold out again.

Rough price history.
Pre Black Friday - $949.99
Black Friday - $699.99
Semi-Cyber Tuesday - $749.99

++Update Dec 1++
TV is back in stock on Amazon.ca at $740 price tag.

(prohably from people cancelling and getting it at Costco)

Thanks Canuckavelli for pointing that out.

------------------

Costco and Amazon now have the same price tag.

http://www.costco.ca/Vizio®-–Téléviseur ... langId=-24

http://www.amazon.ca/VIZIO-M49-C1-49-In ... zio+m60-c3

Costco has extended warranty for $60.
Amazon has extended warranty for $75.

Costco warranty extends the normal 2 year warranty to 5 years. Im not sure how the Amazon one works.

As per Canuckavelli, these are not sold in store, just online.

Amazon.ca has now lowered their price. Ebates and Amazon credit card could make this better if you don't want the warranty.

Thanks puppdays for pointing it out Amazon price drop.

Added preferred settings. Will test out and comment when I get mine. (forgive the format, Im on my phone)

As brought up in another thread, Vizio tracks your usage if connected to the Internet and the option isn't turned off. Not an uncommon practice for smart tvs and I don't think it should deter you, just wanted to keep everyone inforned. You can read more in the thread linked.

Damn I was tempted by all the 4k tv deals on BF, but nothing looked low enough for a size big enough. This one might actually make me pull the trigger.
Anyone know if this is good for pc monitor?

Online pricing only? In store?

Fwiw the 49" model of this series uses an IPS screen while the rest use VA. That is biggest con about this product. Still on the fence..

Product info shows it has 5 hdmi ports.
One of them has UHD Video @60Hz with HDCP 2.2 support. The rest are 30Hz only.

Is the 60Hz the only port usable for pc monitor? I'm not familiar with UHD screen requirements.

Not able to get to a store to see.

I heard about the panel issue, but the biggest issue with that is viewing angle I think. These are going to be like 2 meters in front of each of us so no viewing from the side possible anyways!

Thank OP. I had just ordered from amazon.ca 40 minutes before I saw this. I immediately cancelled that order and ordered through Costco with the extended warranty. Only cost me $20 more with the warranty. That puts to rest any worries about issues with the TV. I am grateful to you.

Awesome! This is why we do RFD, to help each other. The extra warranty for very little was the big winner for me.

Here's hoping these turn out great. Can't wait to set them up!

In for 1
I'll compare it to my M43-C1 I bought for $709 and probably return the M43.
I hope the difference between the VA panel and IPS panel isn't too noticeable.

apparently IPS = better viewing angle. VA = better contrast and overall picture quality.

I'm torn between this and the Sony 48" 1080P for $579 no tax at RCSS.

I can't compare the two, having not looked into that Sony tv. The main reason I am getting these is for the excellent input lag for gaming. Also to test out 4k netflix!

Savings of $120 + tax can be a pretty nice savings though. Tough call, but it all depends on your expected use and where you locate it.

THANK YOU OP!!!!

Got one! Getting as computer monitor for my office. Wanted a 55" but at this price it was hard to say no. Came out to 903.41 with the extended warranty. Plus Costco has a 90 day return policy so if anything better comes up during boxing week I can always give it back :) .
