It's a good tent. I bought it this spring and used it on earlier this month. Easily held 2 adults and 3 kids.
Would have liked it to be taller thought. I'm only 5'-11" and I could only stand upright right in the middle.

For $169 it's still better than anyone else for this size but if you can find it for $100, BUY DON'T THINK.

Coleman makes OK tents at best. Don't expect it to last a long time. A true test of a tent is how well it holds up in heavy rain. At $100, nothing to complain about though. THink of it as a disposable tent that will last you a few seasons of occasional camping.

And FYI people, an 8 person tent really isn't for 8 people. It's for 4 adults MAX. You're welcome.

Don't worry ladies there is plenty of room for all 7 of you, in my 8-person tent.

i understand what you're saying at 4 people max is what it should be considered but around 12 ' by 10' is the normal. i usually attach a gazebo to my tent so i have a small place to put shoes and stuff outside.
at 100.00 for a nice tent it is paid for and i dont have to worry about losing it but i had it for 2 years and its been very nice.

that's putting it lightly - 8 man tent is REALLY for 2 people, by the time you factor in your large double height air mattress and all the extra crap you lug from home and store in your tent, your at capacity.

I generally try to avoid the tents with the bigger (and more comlicated flies). Dome plus basic fly, is the way to go.

We've been using this model:

for about 6 years now. It's ridiculously easy to put up and down. It goes on sale from time to time.

I was shopping for a tent recently and decided to try out an "instant" tent. It was amazing and I don't know why there are nto more of these around.

I got this for $168 from Walmart. Setup (by myself) in less the 1 minute and took it down in less than 5:

If you want a 'better' brand, coleman makes them also
http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/colem ... 5162p.html

I don't plan on camping in heavy rain or going too far from my car (canoe camping or hiking to campsite), so this is perfect for a family with kids.
