$179.99 USD Moto G5 Plus Unlocked

Deal Link:
Price:
$179.99
Retailer:
COSTCO.COM (USA)
Was thinking about ordering this phone from Costco.com and shipping it to a mailbox in the USA. I have 90 days to return it if I don't like it and I can return it to a Costco in Canada.
Can anyone care to comment on this phone and price. Is this a great deal.
I know the item is out of stock at the moment, hoping it comes back in stock.

The Moto G5 Plus is this year's best rated mid range phone. Google will show you lots of very positive reviews.

It sells on amazon.com for US$230 with ads (Moto G Plus (5th Generation)) so Costco's price is a hot deal if you can get inventory.

The phone lacks two features that may be important to you, no NFC (i.e. no Android Pay, et al) and no dedicated compass (which may affect GPS navigation.) Also it's only a 5.2" display. Some may prefer full 5.5" But at this price it's hard to complain.

Thanks OP. Was down in LA a couple of weeks ago and saw it in store for, I think, +/- $200? Decent price with discount.

Of note, I also don't think it's water proof/resistant, unlike an earlier generation.

Has a water-repellent nano-coating.

"Advanced nano-coating technology creates a water repellent barrier to help protect against moderate exposure to water such as accidental spills, splashes or light rain. Not designed to be submersed in water, or exposed to pressurized water, or other liquids; Not waterproof."

Thanks everyone for the info. Might pick one up in store if I can't order online.

Do note that the 32gb storage one only has 2gb of ram compared to the more expensive one with 4gb of ram.

For those not waiting to make a trip down or don't have an friend that can send to you, it may be cheaper to buy from Amazon.com. They dropped their price to match Costco and will ship to Canada.

Comes to $214 US / $272 Canadian total for me. Very tempting, although its missing Android pay. That would have been nice.

Chances are that Moto will get the message that NFC is a mandatory feature these days and start to include it in the G6+. So at that price you could buy the G5+ now and its successors (G6+ and G7+) annually over three years for about the same cost as a single flagship phone today. And that doesn't include what you could sell the previous year's phones for. I suspect that in 2 or 3 years a Gn+ will be more powerful than anything available today at any price.
