[Costco] Cosco 2-in-1 Hand Truck 800-1000 lbs ($74.98 In-store only - YMMV)

I believe this is a good (warm) deal, though not the extremely YMMV deal that appeared recently for the 3-in-1.

This is a good deal because this is NOT the cheaper 2-in-1 version advertised on the costco.ca website for $119.99. Seen at Ottawa East location.

What is odd about this product is that it is the same design (save for the note below), same weight restrictions (1000/800 vs 600) as the 3-in-1 AND has the flat-free tires (so you can ignore the bad reviews about the 2-in-1 product related to the tires going flat and the carry capacity being less than 550 lbs). Photos below of 2-in-1 version in-store below. This product is not described on the Cosco website. So, this is the 3-in-1 in all aspects except the ability to put it into the cart assist mode (allows you to pull a load on an angle.

Inb4 checking whether I used Costco and Cosco in the right places.

It's probably a decent cart for general use, but I'd be very interested to watch someone try to move 800-1000 pounds with it.

I wonder can this new used to carry my new Costco hot tub from the front curb to my backyard? The hot tub should deliver in another week or . Do I spend some cash trying to convince the delivery guys to carry the 650lb tub to the backyard or use this? The hot tub is 7.1feet by 7.1feet by 3feet tall.

Highly doubtful. I have no idea what it looks like between the curb and your backyard, but if the ground isn't solid (concrete, asphalt) then the tires will sink. That is assuming that you can even get it lifted off the ground with the handcart which may not even be possible.

Also, it may only be one delivery guy with a pallet jack and lift gate.

Yes I recall it being somewhere around there, but again just to highlight this differs from the $119.99 online version that is less quality - (likely 99.99 + 20 for shipping). I haven't seen any posts within last 3 years where the price has been this low for this particular variety. Find me a regular $99 price with the 1000/800 lbs capacity and I'll add it to the post.

Got rid of the hot tub in my yard last year by rolling it on its side using 4-5 PVC pipes with 2 other people to help out. If the guy charges too much or refuses to do it then this may be a cheap option for you.

I think that $XX.98 @ Costco means Manager clearance, so huge YMMV, probably this location only

And, BTW, who did downvote this thread because of "poor merchant reputation" $$$

Buddy used these on the job as movers. They definitely cannot do 1000lbs let alone 300lbs. The bars start snapping over extended use.

I suspect these are not intended for commercial use and given there are various versions of this I wonder if they used one of the lower weight-rated carts such as the ones that are only rated for 300 lbs? Anyways, your opinion is noted.
