Thanks for all the recent feedback. Pulled the trigger.
Gonna run it with my htpc through a switch and to my projector.

Yes it will. Go into TV settings and change it to external speakers. Anything that controls TV volume will work on soundbar.

I have the m65-d0 connected over optical
Were you able to control the soundbar audio through the tablet? I got it to work with the regular remote. I had to turn off the speakers for the TV for the regular remote to work.

I skimmed through the entire thread and have seen people using this as a 2.1 system (plug in fronts & woofer but not the rear speakers, select stereo output only or something like that)
Is there any disadvantage or real difference to a regular 2.1 system doing it this way?

I see a lot of difference in hooking the rear speakers which gives a complete 5.1 surround experience.

Hmmm...meaning? Can't be used as 2.1 properly?

Depends on what you will be satisfied with. I like the 5.1 surround experience especially during scenes when sound come from rear speakers.....

Don't have room behind me to mount rear speakers. Plan is to use it as 2.1 and in the future when I move to bigger place I still have the setup for 5.1 available.

It will work as a 2.1 still, the wireless subwoofer is not reliant on the rear channels to operate.
Thanks! And the wiring for the front soundbar would not be any different than a normal 2.0 soundbar right?

Thats right, it has several inputs so you can connect it via red and white audio cables, optical, digital and bluetooth and switch between any of them. You can even use it without the subwoofer. I have mine under the couch laying flat. The vibrations during some loud scenes are awesome.

I live in a condo and I don't really have space behind my sofa either, so the rear speakers and kinda sitting on the ends just behind the cushions pressed against the wall but I can still hear the 5.1 effect. There is an option to adjust how much surround effect on the rear speakers so I just turned it up.

Can someone please tell me how to connect this to a Epson 2040 and Apple TV?

I bought it and I can't get it to work.

Thank you.

For those who have this soundbar and a Samsung KS8000 TV, were you able to set it up so the soundbar volume can be controlled using the Samsung remote?
