For those who have this soundbar and a Samsung KS8000 TV, were you able to set it up so the soundbar volume can be controlled using the Samsung remote?

I think I just figured it out. For anyone interested see below:

Click Home button on remote > Choose Source (next to Settings) > Universal Remote > New Device > Home Theater System > Manually type in Vizio and search (got stuck here originally since Vizio was not on preset list).

Let it do its test and Samsung remote should control the soundbar afterwards.

I did not have to modify. It was quick and easy.
How did you feed the wire up? The jack on mine gets stuck in the pole.

strange. Mine fed through with ease and no issues. I am not sure why you are experiencing problems.

I did feed mine the other way round, back to front so to speak.

Yeah, I realized two minutes after posting that I was feeding it backwards. A bit of a blonde moment there.

was.going to buy this soundbar but didn't want all the added speakers in the rear.

decided to go with the 38" 2.1 systems.

costco.ca has it for 229.99. SB3821-C6

further inspecting saw that there is a newer one with the smartcast built in for 289.99 SB3821-D6

found it for 119.99 on costco.com for the newer one with smartcast

https://m.costco.com/Vizio-SB3821-D6-38 ... 01384.html

170 cheaper with the exchange rate I am still gonna be saving almost $100.

Hot deal for me since I'm 10 minutes from border so I will pick up and bring back with me.

This soundbar does have a coaxial port in addition to optical

I have the samsung KU6290, there is a learning mode you can enter into on the soundbar, and teach your samsung remote to work directly to the bar. I use my samsung remote to mute vol up and down and to turn on

After having this sound system for a while, I definitely have to say I was impressed. At first, I was concerned that the subwoofer was either on or off - it was not really good at being silent. Plugging it into the sale Roku television at thesource, the quality of sound is much better including base.

USB support sucks and music via blue tooth sucks because it disconnects Bluetooth-subwoofer.

Just in case this deal goes live again I wanted to write my experience!

Not sure if you have a defective unit or if you're connecting the BT wrong, but I'm listing to music via BT right now and my sub and rears are all active.

I love this unit. It is everything I wanted and suits all my needs.

I am new to sound bar. I bought the LG SH2 from Superstore on Apr 1 during their no tax day. Decent reviews and good price ($128 and no tax).

I returned it yesterday. I was away and only tried it out for a couple of days before deciding it wasn't very good. I was watching the soccer game and play by play/color guys' voice sounded "hallow".

Without sound bar, the voice is clear and sharp. I have a Panasonic HD smart tv if that matters.

Sound bar uses optical cable. HDMI would be better or I didn't set it up properly with correct settings?
