How is the motion for watching sports? That's about 95% of what I watch. Great price, and easy return at Costco so might just risk it if I'm not happy with it.
This. I'm tired of seeing 3 pucks when hard shots happen. Anyone?

Does this TV have the same issues as the other Haier deal at Costco?

costco-55-haier-4k-3-840-x-2-160-led-tv ... 24975/164/

Seems like people need to keep going into the secret admin menu and changing picture settings
I have the RCA version of the same TV. Mine is fine without changing any settings in the "secret" menu. LOL Face With Tears Of Joy

All these issues are specific to (some of) the 55" only.

Yes the TV is great for hockey and has been mentioned several times in the other Haier threads.... I love the TV (have the 55") but you absolutely need to get a soundbar or some sort of external speaker as they are borderline unbearable.

Just note that depending on you got the 55" it might be apples to oranges, 2016 55" has an IPS vs SVA panel on the 49" and 2017 55".

Which ones better?

Also anyone know when Costco will be rolling out the updated haier models? I think last year the 55" came out in the summer and based off the brick thread recently my feeling says the Haier model for this year will be the curved ones

Which ones better?
One is not necessarily better than the other, to each its own merits, one might be more advantageous for specific setups than the other.
SVA will have better contrast while IPS will have better color reproduction and off-angle viewing.

it's alright, there is noticeable edge bleeding but it's something you should expect from cheap panels
