[Costco] Costco Haier 55UG6550G 55-in Chromecast 4K LED TV $449.99

Saw this in store and online for the same price. Previous low price was $499.99 about a month ago. It seems like a decent price but not sure if I should buy this to replace my 6 year old 42 inch Samsung plasma tv. Protection plan is only $29.99 to extend the warranty to 5 years. I won't give the details of the tv here as they are all available on the link.

Does anyone have this tv and could give an opinion on it? The reviews on Costco online are kind of mixed.

They just released this huh, it was not on the website yesterday nor in my local store a few days ago
Its probably the RCA/Haier/Avera model with chromecast added, though i wonder what panel it uses.

Too many discussions on this already...

If your plasma is working fine...then replacing it with this one wont be a step up!

Wal-Mart has the RCA VERSION on sale too

I had the Haier model before this one and it stopped working properly after 18 months (picture flicker requiring unplug from wall/re-plug in to resolve). The picture on the set was not awesome, but it was also a 65" 4K for $699 so, you get what you pay for, I was not expecting much. All this said, costco gave me a full refund under the 2 year concierge (i had bought the extended as well) and I got a new 65" Vizio.

This version is upgraded with direct lit over the previous edge lit so the picture should be better with less ghosting. As always costco has a great return policy so there is no harm in trying it out.

Does anyone know if the Chromecast that's built in is the standard version, or the 4K ultra version?

I bought and returned the 50" version of this TV. Good picture, 4K Chromecast/Netflix support but it had an issue with audio sync, could never get it match up. Unlike most TVs there wasn't a setting to adjust the lag.

The Costco rep said she had done quite a few returns on these new Haier models. Probably not a good sign... If your budget is $500 just wait for the Hisense to go on sale again as those seem to be well reviewed. I ended up exchanging my Haier for a Vizio M-Series 55" when it was on sale.

I bought last years model without Chromecast and I can say it's pretty awesome.
I use it connected to a PC for 4K pc gaming and have been super happy with it.

Solid picture quality, no issues with 60 fps (when my SLI works).

Care to expound upon this?
if you had a good plasma TV, they are pretty unbeatable in terms of color and picture quality. Even my Panasonic Plasma looks better than newer OLED's today, in my opinion.
