[Costco] Costco YMMV Surface Go Bundle $499.98

I noticed this at Costco St John's last night

Seems to be a good deal as the bundle is $729.99 from the Microsoft Store and $669.99 at Costco online

As with all .98 prices it is YMMV.

Surface Go Bundle
4GB RAM
128GB SSD
Black keyboard cover

.98 price means clearance?
Correct, I believe the "*" also means that it is not going to be re-stocked but I could be wrong about that part.

Just to confirm, this is SSD storage and not eMMC?

Nice that its the SSD but is the downsides of the 4GB vs the 8GB worth the price differential?

I do not have any experience with the item, I just noticed the big sale and shared it.

I am sure that you have to temper your expectations when the item is 1/2 the cost of a higher performing Surface Pro.

The Surface Go is smaller in display size, 10" vs 12" for the Pro. I have a Surface Go 8/128 and have just upgraded to a Surface Laptop 2 which is a 13.5" display however the screen is not detachable. I believe the Go has USB-C while the Pro does not, however the processor on the Pro is much better.

If you're doing mainly Office 365, note-taking and light apps then the Go is sufficient. Keep in mind again that you'll be working with a 10" display.

How is it for multimedia consumption? Can it decode H.264 an HEVC video streamed from say a Plex server?

Anyone seen this in Edmonton? I'd love to upgrade my Surface 3. Is it a great travel and meetings device, but not to replace a laptop. I didn't see it at Ed South or Winterburn.

If you have a chance, play with it in store. The key spacing on the keyboard is narrower than a full size keyboard, and takes some time to get used to.

Thanks @OP. Would have preferred pen instead of keyboard (looking for something decent to write notes on < $500).

That 4GB ram is awful, imo. Makes it worth staying away from.

Edit: Saying that though, it really depends on what you intend to use it for.
