[Costco] Dyson V8 Total Clean $500

Saw this at Costco in Brossard today. Looked like a decent deal. Apologies if it isn't.

I'm a fan of Dyson's refurbished products. They are basically brand new and come with a 1yr warranty. They are currently selling the V8 Absolute which comes with the carpet and the hard floor heads for $429 regular. I got it on sale for 20% off, paid $399 taxes in for it. The absolute new goes for $699. The hard floor head is awesome for cleaning up toddler messes after meals in the kitchen.

Search "dyson" on ebay and you'll find their refurbished products.
I've got 2 refurbished dyson vacs and they're both going strong 6 years later.

How did you get 20% off. And is the v8 worth the extra money compare to the v6

During eBay sale 2 weeks ago. V8 lasts longer in terms of battery life. 45 mins vs 20 I believe

Keep in mind Dyson's claim of 45 minutes is when using suction tools only, and not the powered heads it comes with (which is typically what you would be using). I believe with the powered tools, it goes down to about 20 minutes or so.

I can't imagine that 45 would go down to 20. That would mean 20 would be less then 10mins for the V6. I'll have to test this later but I'm fairly sure I used mine for more then 25 mins the last time and that was on 2/3 of a charge. This is on their regular suction mode. I have yet to use their max power .

It's way more than 20 minutes. I can vacuum my 2500 sq foot house and have plenty of juice left to spare.

However when you use the max power setting it only lasts maybe 6 or 7 minutes.

Just looked it up, sorry was recalling from memory. 40 minutes with just suction tools, 25 minutes with powered tools.

Right from an Amazon listing:
Up to 40 Minutes of Powerful Fade-free Suction
The Dyson V8 Absolute cord-free vacuum is powered by a new Lithium-ion battery to deliver up to 40 minutes of fade free suction. (Up to 25 minutes with motorized floor tool attached).
https://www.amazon.com/Dyson-Absolute-C ... B01IENFJ14

I'm not saying it's a bad vacuum (it's a great vacuum -I have one!), but the 40+ minute runtime claim is with the non-powered tools, that's all I wanted to point out.

I have not tested the runtime from full to empty because typically I use this one for quick cleanups/just a room/floor at a time (we have a canister for the other floors/rooms).

there was a ebay special, 12 or 24 hours I think 20% off almost anything for fatherdays. Got it that way. v7 same suction as v6 but better battery. v8 has better suction and better battery then the v6&7

Straight out of a new box, my first V8 only lasted 25 minutes on pure suction only (no motorized tools). Since I ordered directly from Dyson, I complained and they sent me a new one. The second one I received was 42 minutes on suction and exactly 25 minutes with floor rotating brush. I suspected the first one Dyson sent me was refurbished, but in a new box.

So although a refurbished model may look and perform similar to a new one, you might want to double check the runtime. I suspect the battery is where the difference lies.

My Costco in Ancaster was offering the V10 for the same price. Different stores offer different Dyson?

Was considering getting a refurb when there is an ebay sale.
Which V10 model? Sounds like a good deal. V10 is supposed to have longer battery life than V8.

Ya no . I’m having a hard time believing this. They currently sell for $800

My mistake. I had to ask a friend who went to that Costco and I was totally wrong. Sorry for the misinformation.
