Installed it last night and it's true...I don't have a deep sink and it does splash more than my previous faucet

But still better than what I had

Just checked and its OOS. Don't expect it to come back at the discounted price. Oh well......
It's on sale again for the exact same price. In stock too. ;)

YOu can buy now as sale is till Sunday night, but on the website there is a statement "This product is back-ordered, and is expected to ship between 12/18/2017 and 12/26/2017."

Unless I'm missing something really obvious, it also looks like Masterpass is not an option. I assume this is because it's back-ordered and they won't charge for it until they ship it.

What's so special about this faucet? Is it build quality? Special water flow? It looks like every other faucet out there. What's the big deal?

Bought and installed this faucet and I am happy with it. Yes it splashes if you open it full blast... The water appears murky as others stated because the faucet does have aeration feature and faucet is mixing tiny amounts of air with the water. Let the water stay for a minute and the water will clear up. There is a replacement head with aeration that you can attach to this faucet if you do not like the solid stream but it costs around 50 usd plus shipping.

Put another way, why is it better than the Capo or the Astral? With Masterpass, those would be about the same price.

I wouldn't say it's better, other than the price being just right.

If nothing else, because the 2 you listed are ugly compared to hansgrohe one (especially Astral one).

German design and engineering and solid brand reputation. Quality components as well. Research Hansgrohe and you will see why they are considered a premium brand.
