[Costco] Hisense 55-in. 4K ULED Android Smart TV 55H8809 $698 Shipped

Since the 55" TCL 6 Series is now OOS online at Costco, I noticed this similar Hisense 55H8809 Android HDR, local Dimming, model is also priced similarly at $698 online shipped. With the usual 90 day return/PP, 2 year warranty, and $60 3 year warranty extension (5 years).
At least it's an option to compare if the TCL is not available. They both get similar ratings from Rtings, although they have different strengths and weaknesses. This one actually has a couple of extra features.

As in the other threads, this is available shipped online to Costco non-members, and can be returned for up to 90 days, so that puts you past Black Friday to decide to jump on a better BF deal, switch to a TCL, keep it, get a price correction if it drops etc.

I believe the H8F and H8809 are the same. Not sure why Hisense insists on making completely unique model numbers for Canada, but I am almost certain.

Yeah, it's the H8F and looks like good value. It was $798 at Canadian retailers when I last checked, but it's more competitive now.

55" is 399USD and 50" is 349USD on Amazon.com, or 533 CAD for the 55" and 465 CAD for the 50".

At least this is now comparably priced to the TCL at Costco. At $70-$100 more this Hisense wasn't really in the running, now it might even be preferable for some users, with the Android OS, BT and RCA outs.
Personally I wouldn't buy a TV anywhere else, unless it was a price error, Lava hot deal, or cheap refurb. The cheap 5 years coverage is a necessity IMO, with the decreased longevity of TV's from all Manufacturers, these days.

Hisense H8F is just as good as the TCL 6 Series. This is a good deal IF the 6 Series is out of stock, the brighter TV is the 6 Series but everything else should be very similar in performance.

Similarly rated on rtings, both at the score of 8. There are pros and cons of each TV, have a look at the reviews on the rtings site.

Bright living room - Go for the TCL 6 Series.

Normal lit room and basement - Both options are fine, i'd just go with whichever is cheaper.

Is a 6 series really worth $220 more than a tcl 55" 4series @$450?

$1000 you mean? I'd wait till the new 6 Series 2019 version comes out in Canada to make a decision. Both should be similar, both will have quantum dot, 6 series should be brighter but it all depends on how they price it which may or may not make this a good deal down the road.
