I have actually seen the M658-G1 available in store at Costco, and they do have it online at $1039, I think it was $999 at the time. I had the same qualm about the M557-G0, when I saw it in store. It looked great, but when I noticed that it had only 16 dimming zones, I had to wonder whether it was good competition for the TCL 55r617 and Hisense 55H8809 at the same price, and there was no Rting review of that configuration. Not to say that it isn't a great TV, but without data the difference in dimming zones was a bit of a concern.

M658-G1 and TCL 6 Series 65" are rated very similarly with the M658-G1 coming out ahead 0.1 point higher on rtings if i recall correctly. I'd get whatever is cheaper, in this case the 6 Series. Although i'd say QC on Vizio is better than TCL so if you don't like panel roulette then pay a bit extra and get the M658-G1.

Good point. The time, effort and cost of repacking and exchanging until you get a panel that you are happy with is a big factor, aside from the aggravation.

This model is the Hisense H8F model it seems and it is rated the best budget TV. I think the model you mentioned just only comes with quantum dot tech.
Rtings suggest that "In Canada, the H9F is known as the Q9809, but we expect it to perform the same.".
https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/hisen ... rison_2616

It looks like for 100$ more we might get H9F but shipped with the remote from H8E Plus. Nope, error, I Costco is selling que Q8809, not the Q9809

How bad is the DSE on the M658-G1?

Has anyone had any issues with their Hisense? Got mine Friday, installed it Sat and the last 2 nights, it makes a high pitch noise and shuts off and then goes to my app screen. I called tech support and he said it was for "Privacy reasons", which is total BS.

Is there a power supply issue?
Thank you

Factory reset TV before exchanging it. Costco's lenient with returns if you need to use it and aren't abusing it, which you aren't.

Based off Google it looks like a power supply issue like you said.

I will try a factory reset and see how it works. I was just told by my bro in law that the TV just did an update about 20 min ago.

My mistake!

I copy/paste 55Q9809 on costco.ca but search resultats gave me 55Q8809 and I didn't notice. That's a bummer. Well, I ordered, so worst case scenario, I'll return.

Do you think that the Quantum Dot is worth 100$?

So visions should have it now or will later on. Costco probably in the future. To clarify. this is NOT the 55Q8809. They are different models as confirmed by hisense. Even hisense is confused about how many hdmi ports and dimming zones the tv has but there are two models out for Canada.
