For anyone who had the same question I did, the box I got had the improved wildside+ jar, not the original wildside.

Did you add any ice?
Nope, the frozen strawberries and mango are much harder then ice though and make the smoothie just as cold.

Hello, would you or anyone else who has purchased this model mind posting a photo of the bottom of the jar? From my understanding there is an older version with a black rubber gasket on the bottom and a newer improved version that is metal. Some people have reported the rubber breaking down over time. Thank you!

Thanks a lot! Is there a manufacturing date somewhere on the jar? Thanks.

So @leblanc whywhich version do I have?
I'm not quite sure. When I was researching this model on the internet I came across a customer who had the leaking jar issue due to the degradation of the black rubber seal. He received a replacement jar from Blendtec that replaced the black rubber material with stainless steel. This customer posted pics of the underside of both the old jar and the new improved version. I forgot what website I found this information on but am trying to backtrack to see if I can find it again to compare those pictures with yours. I'll post an update if I find it.

This generic box has me worried it was refurbished or a return/repackaged. What you guys think? Mine came in a white generic box. Not a retail box.

I wouldn't be too concerned. I'm guessing that they are just saving money on packaging. On the shelf in a retail store, they want to get your attention towards their product with their marketing and glossy boxes. Worst case scenario though, if it is a refurb, you've got a Blendtec with a full warranty and extra jar and spatula for less than the cost of a refurb'd Vitamix.

If it "jumps/moves around" then that is a danger issue. Because if a blender can MOVE on a counter, it could technically move to the edge of the counter, fall off, and kill a child. I have never seen a single incident where a blendtec blender jumps or moves around. Can you find a video online showing this?

The reason I say this is because everyone has a different level of "comfortable" when it comes to blenders. Yes, blenders do shake/make loud noise/vibrate, and that may lead some people to become confused, but the blender should not actually be moving on the counter.

Besides, I highly double adding 2lbs extra to a blender does anything. Imagine applying 2lbs pressure with your pinky finger to the top of the lid. And who wants that heavy of a blender anyways? Would rather have a lighter blender.

Are
I have the 625 model and it definitely has the ability to fall off the counter. I've seen the lid pop off as well. It doesn't always move around, but I usually keep my hand on top or at least keep myself within arm's length while it is in use. It's not a concern for me though - the smoothie setting is 40 seconds.

Mine came in a generic white box and my serial number is dd28pa01-64780. My jar does not have any rubber seal on the bottom.
