[Costco] Napoleon Electric Fireplaces

Costco have their Napoleon linear electric fireplaces on sale (different discounts for different sizes).
Not sure how hot it is, but seems like a decent deal to me (I've been keeping my eye on these for the past few weeks).

For reference, i called Napoleon to understand the difference between the costco model (NEFL50HS) and the other big box store model (NEFL50FH), which sells for almost double at regular price.
They let me know that they are essentially the same units, with 2 exceptions:
  1. the warranty is dealt with through costco, not Napoleon.
  2. the costco model only has orange and white LEDs, while the other big box store model has orange, white, and blue.

Great deal for the 60 inch. These ones have the vent in the front so they can be fully recessed to a wall.

I bought the 72" during Black Friday for the same price and having it installed now. Another difference is these have a depth of 5.5", I believe the NEFL50FH is less than 5".

I live in a condo and my living room area is carpeted. Can I put the fireplace there, or is there a fore hazard.

Only hazard would be playing golf in your living room otherwise no issues with the fireplace

I'm not very familiar with these units but currently looking at additional heating for our basement rec room. Do these throw a lot of heat?

Looks like the same price as online (LINK), and reviews are mixed. Similar sized Napoleon is on sale for $50 more.

Almost made a post about one I saw in a flyer this week, 50" on sale from $350 to $250. For the life of me I can't figure out how its so cheap compared to everybody else, and this one comes with legs. I was going to wait to post until after I went to get it (its ready to be picked up). But another problem is its at Kent Building Supplies, which I think is only located in the maritimes. They do ship though so maybe you can get it anywhere in Canada.

I tried it at home, too loud for my liking.

While nice of course, electric fireplaces cost significantly more to operate, just be prepared to watch it look pretty, more than actually using it for heating.

Great deal (LINK). Shipping is $37.41 to Ontario, for a price of $324.76 all in. Similar unit is on sale at Costco for $399 + tax. Costco model is NEFL50HS and one at Kent is NEFL50HF-BT

They do cost more than natural gas heat to heat your home, but they are actually very good at heating. I have the 42 inch model, which is rated for up to 5000 btu. Thats roughly the equivalent of a 36" long baseboard heater. The fireplace does a better job of dispersing the heat though since it has the onboard fan that is lacking in a baseboard heater.

I personally don't understand the point of fake fireplaces, they just seem so cheesy to me.
