Giant is a *huge* company and makes frames for many other brands. Most of the aluminum frames out there are manufactured by Giant or one of the other large Taiwanese suppliers.
Northrock bikes are manufactured by Giant for Costco.

"Aside from the recent Cannondale appearance in Costco, Sinyard refers to bikes that Giant Bicycle manufactures for the retailer under the Northrock brand. Sinyard's letter does not mention Specialized's Full Force brand, which was sold to mass merchants briefly in the 1990s. "

I see some people are very knowledgeable about bikes so I wanted to ask your thoughts on the mountain bikes on Costco's site. What do you think of the differences in these bikes for the occasional weekend trail rider. These are generally gravel trails so we are not talking hardcore off-road riding. I know the Mongoose's are more expensive but I am willing to spend the extra $ if I am getting more value for my money. TIA

Looking for some sizing help. My local costco is not getting these in stock so my only option is to order online.

I am 5'11. The inseam on my pants is 31"

Will this bike be small for me? I have a Cannondale Hybrid in size large (which is 20" frame)

What I was getting at is that Giant manufactures frames and complete bikes for a lot of people under various brands.

It absolutely does not mean that this bike is a rebadged Giant.

I'm pretty much the same height as you and tried it in store. I believe it fits pretty well for our height. There was a seat adjusted really high and I could not ride it (too high). The handle bar was a comfortable distance away as well.

My friend is about 5"11 (180cm) and he is ridding a Giant Seek3 in M size. I believe the bike from costco are size in M, and it should fit you ok.
Giant Seek3 2015 model M size has 19.5 frame size

Oh man, I wouldn't be able to get it as I'm 5'5". Too bad Costco only sells one size - I don't get it. Can't order it online as it's one size as well.

Any opinions on the XC29 on the site? As a heavy dude wanting to slim down/be more active, I want to start biking 7.5km to and from work.

I am 5'7" (170cm) and my height is at the borderline of S to M. I tried both size when I purchase my bike and i feel M size is more comfortable than the S size.
Another friend of mine bought a Giant Roam2 in S size and he is about 5'5".
BTW, Giant Roam2 2015 model Small size has 17" frame size.

Tnx for the info. The frame on the ctm is 18 and xc27 is 17.5 so maybe the xc27 but I would prefer the hybrid mainly b/c I ride on pathways mostly.

Anyone seen it in Ottawa?

Also, is the kickstand a serious issue, or can it just be removed?
