I would say the pricing takes into account that they are discounting 2018 models. Keep in mind that this still sells for $648 USD (on sale from $700 USD which was original price when it first came out) on Walmart.com, so about $860 Cdn, getting it for $600 is a hot deal. It may drop further in price, but stock is unlikely to be replenished.

If you can get the TCL Series 6 55" for $600, that would be a hotter deal.
Thanks, what's the lowest on that TCL 6 series? (and which model exactly?)

any insight if there is a point in waiting for the 2019 m series to come out? i purchased a m series a few years ago..while the picture itself is great, my lovely tv freezes randomly or screen blacks out so its likely time to replace

Thanks OP. Picked up one the other night. Debating about the extended warranty. Is it worth it?

It's a no brainer for $60. 5 years coverage??? These TV's aren't designed to last that long anymore...
The first rule of RFD is, you do not talk about RFD.

I set to mine to the calibrated preset and only had to tweak a few things, there was also a setting you have to enable for hdr.
Where are the HDR settings? And should the picture go right to the edge of the bezel, I have a 1 cm black border?

The bezel itself has a bit of a border, not sure if that’s what you are looking at or if your video source is compensating for overscan. I just chose calibrated and adjusted contrast and brightness just a touch, it was only one off on both for me but your results could vary a bit. To enable hdr I had to go into input settings and turn on full uhd colour.

This misled me a bit but i was going to get the extended warranty anyways.

Its actually 2 (comes with TV via manufacturer/costco) + 3 years extended warranty (ExcellencePlus). So really $60 for 3 additional years or $20/year.

Still agree with your statement its a no brainer.

Which locations please?
Last week I was at Warden/Ellesmere in Toronto and none available, Warden/Hwy 7 in Markham had at least 10. You can also call local store to check stock and price with SKU in pictures from OP. Sorry if wrong city but I can't tell where you're from.
