[Costco] Sony 49x900F $999 & 55x900F $1299 (plus Costco gift card)

Hi All,

I was in the market for a new tv and found Costco is selling the 49x900F for $999 (+free $125 Costco gift card) & 55x900F for $1299.99 (+free $150 Costco gift card).

I know some people have been able to get the 55 for 1199.99, but this still seems to be a great deal when you subtract the gift card from the final cost (not to mention Costco warranty).

Looks to be only available for Costco members online. I'm not sure if this is in warehouse.

I'd also be interested on other people's takes on how it does with PC gaming.

I just bought it today so I have no idea.

Assuming you were to get the extra warranty is this 55” worth spending another $300 over the Vizio P55?

I have been on the market for 49'' version for months. It looks to be the best TV for this size. Best price I ever saw, thanks.

The 65" 850F is the same price as the 55" 900F.
The original MSRP of the 65" 850F is higher than the 55" 900F's.
Besides the screen size, the 55" 900F seems to be better than the 850F is every way: better processor, FALD, VA, higher brightness/contrast/deeper black, Dolby Vision support...

Which one would you choose between these two? Is the 850F really that bad? Reviewers seem to have a consensus that edge-lit + IPS = terrible combination.
Any 850F owners can chime in? Many thanks.

Edit: In this price range for the 65" TVs: It seems that NU8000 > 850F ~ SK8000? However, I would like to avoid Samsung TVs if possible based on my family exp (long-term reliability/durability) and at least one RFD user warning about Tizen OS (lack of) support. Also hesitant about the Vizio 65" P series due to the lottery panel; don't have time to pack/unpack/return and buy/return... Have good exp with Sony TVs so want to stick with that if possible.

I just watch the review of the next model who will replace this tv and for me, I will wait because input lag will be better. Both tv seem similar just somes minor improvement.
For people who want a 49", buy it right now because Sony will not release a 49" for is X950G model.

Been using the 49" for the last 6 months mainly as a desktop monitor as well as Xbox One X gaming with no complaints. My 800D had issues and Sony was going to replace it with an inferior 800E so I paid $300 for the upgrade option. I still prefer the 800D for desktop usage as it had an IPS panel.

What kind of issues were you having and how'd you get them to do anything? My 900e has bright screen edges (distractingly bright) and they just repeat that "all tvs are this way" which isn't true.

The TV was activating HDR when non-HDR devices were attached. A technician came to replace the main board and problem persisted.

The TV had already been replaced about 5 months after purchase due to a dead pixel. Sony sent me a refurb 800D and reset my 1 year warranty.

The goal with Sony support is getting to Level 2, Level 1 is useless. Seems their goal is to make you go away.

I don't know much about TV's but after reading some threads on RFD I was deciding on either the 6 series TCL or the Vizio P series. This seems like a nice deal too so I might bite, pay a bit more. Online its $100 for the extra 3 year warranty. Is the warranty cheaper in store? I don't seem to recall it being so high, however I wasn't looking at TV's over $1000 at the time.

How did you get to level 2? I went through chat, email, and three phone support people, including some kind of manager who just repeated "it isn't an issue, all tvs are like that" over and over again until I hung up in frustration.
