Rtings has the new TCL reviewed: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/tcl/6 ... -r625-2019

8.1 not 8.3, like I thought.
"The TCL 6 Series/R625 2019 is very similar to the TCL 6 Series/R617 2018. The R625 has a more premium design and a much better local dimming feature, but the R617 is brighter and has better reflection handling. The R625 has a higher backlight flicker frequency, but a slower response time, and motion doesn't look as good."

Think I'll stick with my 2018 6 series

Yep. Colour gamut is definitely improved. Banding and DSE is still a problem.

Good deals on the 2018 version, probably. I think it's $430 USD in the states right now.

This is what I find interesting. From what I read the motion wasn't the best already on the R617 especially for sports etc (like hockey). For it to be even worse is pretty crazy. I am still debating going for the R617 but I really would like a fourth HDMI spot.

A little off topic but I just saw the 8 series at a Best Buy US event and I can tell you that the picture, color, black levels were incredible. Almost OLED quality...at least to the naked eye at the event.

For what it’s worth:
MSRP
8 Series
75” @ $2999 USD
65” @ $2000 USD

Any thoughts on pricing changes for the 65R613? I see the Costco.ca price of $990 is holding until at least Oct 31st with good availability. Wondering if the price may go up in November only to have the BF price back to the current price. The new 30 day price protection is tricky with BF being so late in November.
