Vizio New M-Series Quantum 55” M557-G0 4K HDR TV $839.99

Not a hot deal or on sale but just saw the new Vizio M-Series Quantum 55” at Costco in Terrebonne for those that are interested.

Just keep in mind there are two versions of M series now. Not sure why they made things more confusing, but this is the 400 nit, 16 zone vs the m558-G1 which is 90 zones, 600 nit

Wonder if these will actually bring much more to the table, or just a lot of marketing hype over the previous model? Hopefully RTINGS will add it.

When you upvote my posts, this is what happens:
My wife loves me more😂, my car goes faster😎, my house becomes bigger😐, My boss gives me a raise😁.

Fact check, none of the above is valid.

It actually is valuable and informative - the post shouldn't be in the hot deals forum as admitted by yourself, the OP.

A couple reviews/posts I saw on the M557 weren't great, but the M558 ones were very positive. The price seems high in Canada. Best Buy US has the M558 for $650 USD (about $855 CDN).

I’ve got the “old” M series from 2018 ish. It’s a decent TV but the P series walks all over it (I have both). Looks like the higher end M is what the P use to be?

Watch this to know the difference of their entire series. More zones = Better

Nope, Vizio seems to have finally decided to reset all sets instead of doing minor changes. There really is no comparison with last year models due to quantum technology.

Also one huge difference between m and p series is the o series has a 120hz native panel while m series has a 60hz panel. If you really want to compare to last year, you can think of 558 as a 60hz version of p or a slightly improved version of m. You can view the 557 more like e series in that it has local dimming but only 16 or 20 (65”) dimming zones.

For other comparisons, m558 is comparable to TCL 6 series and that might be a more meaningful comparison for some.

Thanks for this. Wow could Vizio make it harder for their customers. After a little quick reading, I think I am still leaning towards TCL series 6. But the M558 would make a good backup choice.

Vizio has a 10 bit panel while TCL 6 series is only 8 bit
