Credit cards for students

I'm a university student living at home and I'm looking for a good credit card. I looked at canrock's comparison at http://www.redflagdeals.com/deals/ma...oliday/credit6 but it doesnt say anything about students. Will I be eligible for those cards? If not, what would you recommend?

Universities and colleges usually have credit cards they give out.. and they give em to anyone.

just goto the local campus bank and im sure they will give you a student VISA or MC.

my first year in waterloo in 1998 I got a student visa and MC with no problems.

I got a TD Visa, Citibank Mastercard and AMEX as a student, no problems.

I think the Amex and maybe one of the other ones (can't remember now) had a minimum annual income. I put down my income as the minimum and put employer/source as "Parents and savings" and I got approved

Usually the cards offered on campus don't offer much rewards or benefits. But if you've got a good credit rating, just apply for the ones you really want and most likely they'll give it to you even if you have no income. But of course you can't put no income.... put like $4000-5000. I did that with my 1st CC (PC Financial) when I was 18 and I got it.

I remember getting a TD Visa card with I started university. It had a $500 limit, more than enough, I'd say. I didn't need my parents to cosign it at all.

I have a citibank drivers edge on the way,

just count any rent/tuition fees that you pay out as annual income since your parents are giving it to you to pay or what not.

im 20, a student, and have applied for every credit card i've been able to, and yet have only approved for two. cibc classic visa, and bmo mosaik mastercard. the td one i was rejected because i wasn't a full time student.

Im a student and I dont just want the regular student CCs.

I want the best one I can get.

I applied for HSBC Mastercard (have an account with them) and PC Financial for their card.

I hope I get accepted. I put a minimum income down of $15000 (am a full time student) but also put that I'm unemployed at present (although I have part time jobs).

I have a Royal Bank student card. The interest rate is stupid like 18%, but no annual charges. I still haven't used it once and don't intend to though.
