Credit limit increase with MBNA...
Do they do these automatically if everything is in good standing every 6 months or so? Or do you have to apply? I'd like to do a balance transfer at their low rate but I don't want to apply for more credit with them so I'm hoping they do it automatically. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!

Most companies don't automatically up the limit every so often but there have been some known to do that on occassion.
If you want more credit why do you not want to apply for more? Typically if you have a card you don't need to apply for more you can simply call their 800 number and ask for an increase. Most can tell you on the spot if you qualify based on your credit and history with them. I did that with mine years ago (not MBNA) and was approved for a good size increase in limit within a few minutes.

mbna has increased my limit 4 times in 3 years. I'm pretty sure each time was after I made a large payment.
