You have a business degree then it shouldnt take more than a couple more weeks to get it over with. Did you major in finance? then the job is made much easier!! Its simple mcqs and i think u need 60% in both of them to pass the exam .. !!

CSC Exam?
Is this just multiple choice?
I've been looking over the textbooks that they've sent me, and it looks like pretty routine stuff that I studied for 4 years.
Can't imagine it would be really hard, I am thinking of scheduling it ASAP, then..

It's all multiple choice and if you've done business before, it's ridiculously easy. I studied for maybe 2 days and then did the test.

Mmm, I see..
I think I saw on their site when I signed up there's an online test option too, I'll probably do that tomorrow morning then. Seems kinda no point to go through all this stuff again.
And yeah, I did marketing / finance.

CSC is nothing big really... but some positions... like I was researching yesterday list it as an requirement. RBC Associate, CSC and CPH... I dunno how useful it is really. Considering I just took CFA level 1, I think this would be a total joke. But I guess it just gives you an edge.

More of a formality than anything - it's a requirement for the licensing of many positions in the finance industry.
What a great business the CSI has, it's no wonder the price of the course has risen exponentially the last few years. I paid around ~$500 to write. I believe ONEX has a stake in the business through one of their ONCAP funds.

just wondering
how often is the CSC offered each year? like almost everyday, or 4 times a year, or...?
also, to write it, I have to enroll in rather one of those ridiculously expensive Canadian Securities Course Online Course, right?

You can write the exam everyday 6 days a week with several time slots for each day.

I would not take it lightly and go with a test in 3 days for the CSC. CPH yes but not the CSC. I would suggest you refresh everything for at least a month even if you studied it in school because the crud they ask is so ridiculous you will never expect it. I wrote this many years ago and the ones I got wrong were qualitative tricky questions. All the math and solving ones were decent. If you can price a stock, bond, know a future from a forward, know all the CDN and US exchanges and their roles, basic economics and perhaps some option strategies. Plus dozens of super ridiculous but easy accounting formulas need memorization.

CSC - pretty much Monday - Saturday you can write it. Once you enroll (Yes, you must enroll online and its over $1000 - this includes ONE chance to write the exam. If you fail, its about $300 to rewrite I believe) you can choose your date. There are MANY dates..its not like the CFA where there are only a few scheduled dates throughout the year.
