The CIM designation on its own does not carry much weight. I have noticed that many holders of the designation usually use it as an addition to other more widely recognized designations such as CFP, MBA, CFA.
Personally, the CIM has not done much to advance my career. But then again, I initially took it for personal interest and haven't had any opportunity to apply it.
The PMT is just an extension of the first course, IMT. If you did well on IMT then PMT should not be a problem.
Good luck.
