toyota 200Kkm recommended 5w30. If 0w20, 0w30, 5w30 and 0w40 all synthetic are at same price. Which one is better option to choose in north alberta weather?

I am asking if all grades available for same price. I heard that some different grades are more suitable for different weathers or age of engine despite recommended one.

Some cars are not recommended certain oils cuz it can wreck your engine or void your warranty, but I have read that 0w20 is the best on winter but I haven't noticed any difference.

You can go from conventional to Synthetic but not the other way.

Mind you 0w20 & 0w40 are the most expensive

apparently this is one of thee biggest myths in the consumer world.

There is absolutely no grounds to any concerns regarding interchanging reg/synth products. Google it.

And he even remembered the myth wrong! It's actually "you can't go from conventional to synthetic because it's thinner and will expose leaks blah blah blah"

Tried to get some 0W40 synthetic at Leslie & Lakeshore but some guy cleaned them all out apparently. Boo. Got a rain check for four jugs.

Good deal if you absolutely need oil, but I think I'll hole up with what I have so I don't have to set foot in a Canadian Tire until at least January. :P
