The only bright spot is Betty, I really like the actress and she plays the wholesome Betty character perfectly.
Lol! Watch the 3rd and latest episode Face With Stuck-out Tongue And Tightly-closed Eyes

I was on Vulture commenting on how many of the people I know (Boomers all) dislike the show. Someone piped up they loved it. I wanted to rebut the person but Vulture locked out my account. All the other people I talked to who have viewed at least the first episode or two consider it virtually unwatchable. We are all in the late 50s to late 60s age group and grew up on the old comics. My bud who regularly writes to people like Ron Dante (of The Archie's fame) and who is a musician himself says it's terrible with poor music. I guess it's not for our age group.

Still holding out for the horror version of Sabrina though...

^ i dont think its meant to be for your age group... its meant to be more for people in their 20s, imo... people that grew up knowing of the comics, but not too much about them... i am in that category where i knew the main characters but not much more... i am a little out of my 20s, but i have enjoyed the first 4 episodes so far..

Probably why I also don't read the current run of comics though I did enjoy the "Married" issues of a few years back. The horror line is good as well. Sabrina is very well done but the last issue came out in August of last year and had to be re solicited. Dunno what happened there. Get the trade paperback if you can and the issue after that (the last one) with the origin of Salem The Cat...

And it looks like Jughead is not asexual either. Boo.
Other than sharing the same names as the comics, this is nothing like the Archie universe that we grew up with.

In the current comics Jughead's girlfriend is Sabrina's!

I wonder if they will ever mention Jughead's birth name?

I liked Archie comics when I was a kid, and I like the current comic book tv shows, but this really doesn't interest me.
Don't be a Jughead

Don't you want to see Veronica and Betty chasing Archie?

Really? I'm guessing this is in mature some spin off comic line? Or is it part of the regular comics? I grew up with the Jughead that only had eyes for burgers. :)

4 eps in and I'm still struggling to identify with this show. I actually like the plot but hate hate HATE that they're using the Archie-verse to tell the story. I'm sad that the kids of today are going to associate Archie with this show rather than the amazing comics it (still) is. I respect a lot of the current storylines and enjoy the the newish characters (noteable Kevin Kellar and his sheriff dad) and even hope they introduce Adam as a triangle for the Betty-Archie ship and perhaps even stray to the paranormal and bring in Sabrina, but it's still hard to associate this show with the magic that was the comics. If this show does manage to be renewed for a few more seasons, I hope they pay homage to the "Archie Marries..." issues that were released a few years back. Also, I enjoyed how they cleared up the Grundy storyline somewhat (flashing a newspaper headshot of what Grundy should've looked like) but am still disturbed with how "ok" it is for media to glorify student-teacher relationships. If it is indeed morally reprehensible (according to the law), maybe tv shows should stop sexualizing it and potentially making it "acceptable" to the impressionable minds of the targeted audience? Just a thought. Also kind of tired of that "PLL" type of storyline.

I must've missed those Jughead + Sabrina issues, but that piques my curiosity since Jughead is supposedly so anti-relationship.

And I've also been anticipating Jughead's real name reveal!
