Thanks OP; if people are looking for this it is currently cheaper on Amazon.ca ($95) with free shipping as well:

EDIT: sorry, that's the US site, never mind... It's C$130 on amazon.ca. I shouldn't post on RFD before my first morning coffee..

Call me old-school .... I am not sure a plastic housing is a good idea. And how many people actually need a 24-port "desktop" switch (not rackmountable) ....

I would just get a TP-Link TL-SG1024 for ~ $95 and call it a day ...

Not bad, how does this compared to the Cisco SF102-24 unmanaged - 24 x 10/100 + 2 x combo Gigabit SFP?

The cheapest way to have 10 ports is to daisy-chain 2 8-port switches (2 x ~$25). Not ideal but lowest cost. Also, you might be able to save $$$ on cabling if your devices are not all located in a single location.

Or you can get a 16-port gigabit switch for ~ $75 ...

Looks like it has a sloped top to it. You won't be able to put anything on top of this.

I have this switch, it does the trick and yes it has a sloped top. However this was $99 before and that's what I paid for mine, 6 months ago. Good price, but not a "I need to jump on this now" price

who has this "DESKTOP Switch" must have a HUGE desk to put this on! 24 cables running everywhere, thats a mess for a cat to chew one of the cables, and would have alot of fun looking for the broken cables!

can you mount this on the wall? or anyone have a picture of this switch in a wiring closet of some sort ?

I ordered one to replace my two 8 ports and I could use a couple extra ports. I'll put it on a shelf and forget about it, for that reason I like that it has the ports on the back and lights on the front. For those suggesting TP-Link, everything I have ever tried from them has been crap.
That's 30 minutes away, I'll be there in 10.
