Same here, from looks of receipt though, it appears that it is the Winston Churchill/Dundas store where every pack was "sold out" so i tried to pm some other items, but i made a mistake with this being my first pm and asked at cust serv. if they would accept the pm and then i had 2 go to the car because i was asked to get a cell phone because the phone lines were in use (the freefone was 2) and when i got back from the car, a sign had been placed by the other item i wanted "managers special - $69.95 until closing". I had even called 3 times and spoke with different people to make sure that it was $109 at staples. oh well, i guess that i still got a 100% guarantee! gonna try it with the memorex 50 spindle now on sale at FS or the hp 50 spindle at BB.

I also got an ink cartridge which took my purchase over $100 subtotal so i got the boxing week promo - $10 gift card!

Question: would Staples PM Wal-Mart?

if u got a local walmart around u, then YES, they *should* do a PM for u... note that however i did NOT say they will.... the case being if they just give u some excuse(s)... BTW, they might call ur local walmart to check stock....

my local staples has a *long* list of local competitors they are willing to PM as long as theres stock.... which is nice....

Uggh, Winston Churchill/ Dundas is close by me too. Should have gone there this morning instead of Winston Churchill/Argentia I guess. You have to give credit to Staples for having such dedicated employees (MOD) that would place a Manager's Special sign that quick just to avoid a PM.

AGAIN, there is no list, it's any local b&m store. Call Staples head office to verify.

The sale at FS ended on the 30th.

I tried to PM this tonight at the Stoney Creek location and was denied.

I brought a print out in showing stock in 4 Hamilton area stores including one right across the street. First the cashier disapeared for about 10 minutes while she went to make sure there was stock, she was going to call then her manager told her to check online. This is redundant since she had the same print out in her hand.

So she comes back and says since there is no stock online they can't accept it. I say no it's in stock in the store as it says. She leaves again comes back and says it's an online only deal, again I have to tell her that it's not true and that it's in FS's flyer.

She then goes and attempts calling FS, after about another 10 minutes she returns and says that FS kept hanging up on her so she can't confirm the stock. At this point already more then a half hour into this, I wasn't getting anywhere with her so I gave up.

It's not such a big deal that I didn't get the spindle, but I just hate being lied to right to my face. It's discusting how the employee's will do anything to weasel out of a PM, what a way to do business.

That sucks man. One of the stores here in Halifax has a manager like that too. Does whatever he can to deny a PM. He even looks like a total prick too. I think he's on to me and my buddy though because when we were there on Wed to buy something not on PM he followed us and kept an eye on us and made a point of getting involved in my transaction with a cashier. Print off a copy of their PM policy, http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Static/sta...icy_pricematch , and take it with you. Then you have a better chance of getting them to cave.

My buddy and I managed to get in on this deal and each picked up a spindle in Windsor. Had to jump through hoops with the manager to convince her she knew nothing about their own policy (Where do they hire these people!?) But she finally gave us the spindles for the PM price. Thanks for the deal! Love this website.
