The processor of the Galaxy Tab 2 is worse than the original? I somehow find that hard to believe...

At $150, when I need something more powerful in a couple of years, I can actually justify moving up. This whole 'gotta have the latest and greatest' is the Apple attitude personified - pay more now for a marginal return, and hey - pay more later to upgrade.

I have a Tab 2 and it works just fine for what I'm doing, which is everyday stuff like browsing, watching movies and some games. Serious question - what on Earth are people doing on these things that requires so much processing power?

Why do both gsmarena links say that it has TV-out? I can't seem to find a reference to this anywhere else

does this have an hdmi output port ?

The answer is yes and no. There is a video adapter that was sold for previous versions of the galaxy tab, which apparently does work with the Tab 2 10" model. However, it does not work with the 7" Tab 2 model. If you google galaxy tab 2 7" hdmi you'll find that previous documentation said it was to work, but apparently it does not work.

I have a 7" Tab 2 and love the size for travelling. The iPad was just too big to carry around.

Good price for what it is, with rear camera / SD slot. Pretty sluggish with the stock ROM but a lot smoother with one of the custom 4.1 ROMs. I use Paranoid Android but there are other good ones as well.

I could see how easily the mistake could be made, what with there being 10 whole numbers to choose from and getting three of the five digits listed in the price of something completely wrong. Reckless, completely reckless.

Doesn't anyone proof read anything anymore? Especially something like a nationally circulated flyer?

I know this is like apples and oranges, but I have a 32 GB Playbook and this 7" Tab 2 and I havent touched the PB once since getting the Tab. I'm more used to the Apple IOS so it took me a bit to get a feel for Android, but now I really like it. Plays video well, I got $28 32gb microsd from Costco, works great. Doesn't feel slow like someone mentioned above. especially when you flash it CyanogenMod (choose 3110 rom). Even before rooting it though, it was nice and snappy. I think for the price and all you can get and use this for, its a great value.

EDIT: Not resposible for any rooting failures It's pretty easy though to do, just do your homework, read the guides and do a little research. Again, this was my first step into the Android world and it was pretty easy to do...only took me 3 attempts

Which is louder - the Playbook or the Galaxy Tab 2.0 7"?

One of the main reasons I enjoy the PB is because of how loud and clear the loudspeaker is when playing movies
