It is invoice+450。
(29313+450+175+1390)*1.13-500=34900
Normally how much for license fee?
Anything I need to pay attention when I sign the document or picking up the car?
Thanks in advance

From the Honda site 2008 Accord Sedan EX-VE
Base MSRP = 31,690 the cost is 10% less (3169) = 28,521
From your numbers 29,313+450+175 = 29,938
29,938 - 28,521 = 1,417 or 31,690 x 5% = 1,584
This deal looks more like invoice plus at least 1,000 not 450.
Is the dealer converting the 1,000 gas card to 500 cash discount?
What is the dealer discounting you for paying cash instead of financing or leasing at a subsidised rate?

Could you please explain me what is the meaning of 10% less?
Is it the true cost for a dealer?
I supposed that the invoice price is the price for dealer, they pay invoice price to get the car and sell as MSRP, am I right?

A dealer saw me a document which saying Honda pays $500 only for gas card (after tax). He explained to me that the dealer pays $500, this number is from the price difference $2377 (MSRP-invoice)
$175 is the charges from government.
Sounds like I did not get a good deal?

On most vehicles from most manufacturers there is usually a 9 or 10% margin between the base MSRP and the base cost of the vehicle.
If a vehicle has a base MSRP of 30,000 the base cost is 27,000 at 10% or 27,300 at 9%.
On the options there is usually a 15% margin
If the car has 2,000 of options the cost of the options would be 1,700
.....................MSRP....................Deale r Invoice.......Difference
Base.............30,000.......................27,0 00.................3,000
Options..........2,000.........................1,7 00....................300
Total............32,000.......................28,7 00..................3,300
Frt & PDI.........1,390........................1,000.... ................390
Admin................175.......................... 75......................100
Grand Total....33,565......................29,775....... ..........3,790
Should the dealer make 3,790? Or should he make less and you save money?
Give the dealer a 5-6% profit...
What other discounts is the manufacturer giving the dealer, they have programs on a monthly basis from low finance or lease rates, to cash backs, to gas credits, and who knows what else?

With all the programs that are being used, its wise to ask a lot of questions and consider a few alternatives.
If the 1,000 gas card is 500 from Honda and 500 from the dealer which 500 are you getting?
If the cost of the 3.9 lease rate is absorbed by Honda, what additional discount is available for a cash buyer?
Negotiating ove the invoice amount is the first step, making sure you get full advantage of the various programs is the next step, then you can start looking at how good of a deal.
also what is 31,690 x 5% = 1,584?
a dealer expects to make 5% of the selling price on a new vehicle.

Just go with the APA quote, start from invoice, and settle for pre-neg deal. No need to lose brain cells over a car.

Rule of thumb....your getting a good deal when you pay msrp with all taxes included. approx 12-15 percent off msrp.
