Booster Seats
Greetings,
We are thinking of purchasing a second booster seat, since we have two cars but only one booster seat at the moment.
I am considering getting the same as our first booster seat, which is the Eddie Bauer® 'Stage III' Convertible Car Seat.
It seems to have good padding and features, compared to the other ones we saw of similar characteristics. And it's also on special this week ($169 instead of $199 at Sears).
I was curious to see if anyone recommends something else, based on the specials this week at Toys R US , Zellers , or Sears .
Thanks in advance for your input. I'm planning on buying this evening if possible.
Regards,

Peg perego stroller
I am considering the peg perego stroller. Anyone has any opinion on their new one, Pliko Lite? It is excactly the same as the Pliko P3 but lighter and cheaper ($248 instead of $338 at Mini Circuit). However, this one doesn't have a tray for the baby in the front. I realize that's easier to put the baby in and out but will that be not convinent if there is no tray????
Also, it comes with a universal car seat adapter strap for any type of infant car seat (which means all brands!!!), is this safe enough and easy to use?
Please help! I am a new member of parenthood!

Not so sure about the Pliko Lite. When we were still using the travel system (we have the Peg Perego infant carrier as well), the side-walls and front bar helped a lot in positioning the carrier in the stroller so that we could snap it in. If you aren't using the Peg Perego carrier, then I suppose this isn't as much of a concern for you since you'll have to use that universal strap instead. Then again, it might actually make it harder, since you'll have to support the carrier with one hand while positioning the strap with the other.
Now that our son is out of the carrier and riding in the stroller itself, we find having the tray to be handy... to clip his stroller toys to, to hold his sippy cup, and to give him something to hang onto. The tray swings out to make it easy to get him in/out, anyway. Personally, I just feel better knowing that the tray is there. As well, it tends to rain a lot around here, and the side-walls and tray help to keep the rain shield away from our son... looking at the Lite, that wouldn't be the case (we're not using the Peg Perego zip-in shield, we're using a Safety 1st generic one because it provides greater coverage... like I said, it rains a lot around here). I wouldn't say that the P3 is necessarily worth $90 more than the Lite, but I certainly don't regret owning a P3 knowing that the Lite model exists now.
Oh, one more thing. Not sure about the safety straps in the Lite, but in the P3, the only anchor points for the straps are at the infant's hip-sides, and the center strap. The infant is free to lean forward, the straps don't pin them to the seat back. In the P3, this means that the tray acts as a safeguard to keep them from leaning out of the stroller. If the Lite has the same straps, then once your infant is older and able to sit/lean, you'll have your hands full keeping them from leaning out of the stroller while you're walking.

Bump this thread back up.
Toys R Us has a Graco Quattro Tour 4 in 1 for $299.97 this week (March 4th - 10th) Not sure if it's last year's ? I know this isn't hot but if someone is looking to buy now...
It's on the back cover of the flyer. the price isn't updated on the website because the sale starts tomorrow. I'm considering buying but not sure... Our first baby is due in 7 days

Actually looks like you can order off the website with free shipping, unless they change that when they change the price to reflect the sale.

You'd be hard-pressed to find this travel system for less than $299. At times Sears could be $20 or so cheaper depending on the sale, but their patterns are different (I prefered the one we got at TRU).

Babies R Us is now selling the Peg Perego line ...was there on the weekend doing shower returns, and saw strollers (Pliko Classico, Venezia, and a few others) ...had infant carriers, and high chairs too. ...a darn shame they didnt have them last month. ...the baby 06 book is out too with all the new product.
A sales rep also told me, a huge baby sale is coming up late in the month._______________

Mar 6th, 2006 02:12 PM #163Thanks for the headsup on the sale! I am waiting for that.

By the way, they have the 2005 style for $349, don't know about the 2006 one yet. It's a bit more expensive than some of the other baby store which carries Peg Perego but if you can find some GC from the RFD Buy and Sell section, you can get like 15% off on GC. That's a better deal! Can't wait for the sale, my baby is coming soon and I need those deals!

Mar 7th, 2006 12:13 AM #164Wouldn't you want to apply the 15% off GC against the Graco Quattro Tour Travel System that's on sale right now? 15% off $300 is $255 for a stroller and car seat!

Having said that, sometimes price doesn't matter for those that love Peg Perego strollers, they are really, really nice. I guess question is if it's 2x really nice
.
Btw, for those looking for exclusively Peg Perego strollers, check out Dearborn Baby Express in North York. That's basically all they sell, and have every model/colour imaginable. Prices are similar to TRU.Last edited by Orion168; Mar 7th, 2006 at 12:19 AM.

That's why I prefer to go for the Peg Perego one. It is only 18lbs so that I can handle it much easily. Also, since the Pliko P3 is umbrella style, it will need less trunk space to keep it.
But honestly, the price that TRU now have for the Graco one is real good (finally comparable to US TRU). I also agree that Dearborn has all the stylesfor Peg Perego (they have stock as well) and as I remember, the P3 cost $329 at their store (2006 model). They even have few 2005 model left for $299. But if you have the GC, TRU maybe a little cheaper than Dearborn.
