Decent laptop for $600 range?
Hi, have been searching around for a new laptop and budget being what it is can't really spend more than $600 + taxes. I have noticed the Acer 3623 for $599 at a couple of places. As most people just want to get the most processor, ram, hard drive for the money. Other than the Acer is there anything else I should be looking at? Thanks for any help!

I intend to use it for just MS Office apps, nothing too intensive, surfing the net and the occasional movie. I work from home so would like to be able to work away from desk with wireless as well. I don't think I need a powerhouse for what I want it for, just not really sure what I can get for around that price.

That'll be more than enough for your needs. Where you can get this kind of beauty??.. Check the BST forum, or walk around the College/Spadina area.
A refurb thinkpad P3 will last you a lot longer than a cheap celeron. The only recommendation will be to max the Ram.

I suggest you save up another $100-150 and get one with a dvd burner, 512 mb ram and a decent harddrive then it will last you longer.

I guess many stores can order this if they use the same supplier. I wonder if Staples can order as well .. would love to save an additional 20% with my gift cards.
Personally I'd rather buy new than used.
