Definitive Guide to finding Homes Sold Prices (GTA)

Update: Aug 23 - TREB has lost their appeal at the surprise court. As a result, Many of the sites below are working again, or expanding their services. I expect more sites to pop up. I’ll try to keep the list up to date

Seems like there are so many threads on this topic. I thought it might be helpful to everyone to have it all consolidated in one thread. I can then update the OP to show the latest.

Here is the low down on all options available for the GTA as far as I know:

Working

http://dwelly.ca Map based. Sold data available free but requires registration.
STATUS: Working

http://housesigma.com Webite and mobile app. Map based, with results displayed online, or sent via email or SMS. Up to 5 years of price history. Free with registration.
STATUS: Working

https://www.zolo.ca This site has now added recent homes sold prices features. It’s also a very useful resource for viewing and analyzing average and median sold prices for individual neighbourhoods.
STATUS: Working

No Longer Working

http://www.bungol.ca Map based. 15 years of sales history and the data is refreshed every 2 hours.
STATUS: Sold data temporarily disabled due to ongoing legal fight with TREB

http://www.pinithome.com Searchable results goes back to 2016 for data and has all of the GTA. Includes condo ranking system - ranks based on sold price growth and has some nice charts for each address.
STATUS: No longer Working

http://www.mongohouse.com Web based with map or daily reports available. Searchable by MLS # or address. 5 years Sold Records via Quick Search. 360 days Sold Records via Map View. Up to 10 Years Price History in listing detail page. Weekly Email Digest (optional)
STATUS: Not Working. Currently in a dispute with the Toronto Real Estate Board (file# T-1653-18)

http://tosolds.ca Daily email with homes sold for the previous day. Data expires after 2 weeks. Used to be free, now costs $1 per month.
STATUS: Not Working. Currently in a dispute with the Toronto Real Estate Board

http://house.qidian.ca Web based with map. In Chinese but not hard to figure out. Keeps older data which is nice. Hint: Search box in bottom right will allow you to search by street and get all homes sold data for the past 2 years for that street.
STATUS: Not Working - Shut down due to TREB cease and desist letter.

http://watch.ohmyhome.ca/#/HouseSold (RealMarketWatch) Web based with maps, or searchable via MLS number. In Chinese but pretty self explanatory. One nice thing about this site is they keep data for a long time, and you can also see status like SC (sold conditional), PC (price change), exp (expired), etc. On the downside, the site goes down frequently and therefor is not always reliable.
STATUS: Not Working - Shut down due to TREB cease and desist letter.

http://realmarketwatch.com Now under a new domain name ohmyhome.ca. See above
STATUS: Not Working

http://shafquat.herokuapp.com/mls 2 years of homes sold data, downloadable in tableau Or Excel format. Not all the data is 100% accurate but it's a decent resource for raw data and seems to be kept up to date within a few days
STATUS: Not Working - Shut down due to TREB cease and desist letter.

http://bestgtahome.com/subscribe Web based with map.
STATUS: Not Working

http://soldstats.ca Homes sold reports and maps. Requires registration and fee of $1 per month to use it.
STATUS: Not Working - Taken down by TREB and Pending court appeal in progress

http://gtasoldview.com Search by map view, by MLS# or by Street. Sold prices available for 30 days.
STATUS: Not Working - Website unreachable

http://www.cozyhunt.com ability to lookup individual homes sold or data on larger areas. Required Facebook account to login
STATUS: Not Working - Website unreachable

http://torontoresidences.info Allows you to type in an address or postal code and it gives you sold listings within the vicinity.
STATUS: Not Working - Website unreachable

SEPR IOS App with homes sold data. Map based. On IOS only as far as I can tell. Search iTunes to find it.
STATUS: Not Working

BluePages IOS App with homes sold data. Map based. On IOS only as far as I can tell. Search iTunes Or use link.
STATUS: Not Working

They don't and I've not seen any sites or apps for regions outside of the GTA. However if someone has one I can add it to the list.

Is it any coincidence all or most of these sites are in CHINESE?

Sure. And I Thought about that, but I'm hoping to eventually add links to address other regions. I just don't know of any right now.

It's about time you could just key in a street address and find the last decade of sold prices.

Interesting. Most of them are sold at least 10% over asking price.

In the last 2 years, Just about everybody I know, either already a home owner, planning to buy in 1-2 years or want to buy but can't afford it. Only a few people who are not interested to buy.

Not exactly what you are looking for, but one of the links above will let you pull all home sold prices over the past 2 years for a particular street. Anything older than that is arguably not relevant any more.

Yet, interestingly no such sites exist for the GVA.

I was thinking this too. Most of the sites are in Chinese. Why?

Asking means nothing. If you want to get bids you underprice a bit. Houses that list way over potential sale price don't illicit bids.

For use with BestGTAHome:

http://ce.linedict.com/dict.html#/cnen/home

Use it to hand-write in the character they ask using your browser, and paste the text over.

+1 for OP, didn't know about that last one and it worked like a charm. Glad to see RealMarketWatch is back up too, good data, but not my favourite for navigating because it always reloads everything when I move the map around, but I'm not actually where I want to be on the map yet! So kind of slow on my home laptop... but okay if you got a decent computer haha.

And really do you have to ask why are the sites are mostly Chinese...why don't you ask why they don't charge $1. ;) And I'm very glad I'm still getting my TOSolds emails I signed up for free before they added the $1 change. =p

Yup. Not working again for me either. Very unreliable site unfortunately.
