I've been experiencing some delay as well, but only around up to ten seconds. Do you constantly experience this delay on your laptop? I know this site slows down a little when it has a high database load.

I am having a problem when trying to get the main forum page to be displayed. When I go to the main page, I only see the red banner at the top of the page and the php text ad. It then takes 30-45 seconds to display the forums. This only happens on my laptop and not on my desktop computer.
Any ideas?

Strange, I just downloaded and installed Mozilla and now the delay is gone. Could there be a setting in IE 6 that I should look at?

And I've only had the problem at work useing IE, so it might have something to do with that. Although it hasn't happened in awhile. And when it did it tended to be in peak times.
Although I thought it was traced down to the NCIX add taking too long to load?

OK....after playing around with this all day, I think I've figured a way around it. If I set the security settings to high in IE6, I have no delay in opening the forum page. Any setting less than that and it takes anywhere up to 90 seconds to load.
When using Mozilla, I can see that something from www.redflagdeals.com is taking a long time to load. I guess Mozilla is able to display the page before it is fully loaded while IE6 is not.
I have never had to use the "high" security setting before. Am I going to see reduced functionality by using it now?

We had this problem before with the NCIX.com ad loading slowly, at least that was the problem in the past.

Jan 25th, 2004 02:04 PM #8If this is the problem again, wouldn't it mean that other people would be having a problem as well? Is there anyway that I can just block the "slow-to-load" ad so that the rest of the page loads right away?Originally posted by Derek@Jan 24 2004, 08:22 PM

Is there a forum delay, for example, not being able to see updated threads right away, as if the board is frozen or dated for a time .
