the funny thing is, they mark down like this when all the good stuff is sold/removed from the shelves, just to drive people to the stores at a chance they would buy something else.
That's not "funny", that's just business common sense. What wasn't smart was people snapping things up at just 10%-off MSRP.

True, but that article doesn't indicate the fee for 60in TVs (unless it's the same as for everyday 29in+ screens - I would expect higher).

I'm not actually after a new TV myself, just reminding others of the added not-insignificant expense. And of course there is tax on the tax.

It varies from province to province, but generally the fee is around $40 for TV's 46" and up.

Does the newest software significantly slow down the iPad mini 1? Or is it pretty fast?

Here in Alberta, Target only charged me $10 enviro fee for a 55" TV... Everywhere else charges $30 for 50" and bigger

Yeah, you guys get a lot of breaks on taxes and other fees, along with a strong economy in recent years. Time for AB to share some of the wealth, like ON did back in our better days. Here in ON the rate for a commonplace 32" is something like $40, + 13% HST on top of that. I can understand it, somewhat, on larger TVs, but 32" is now "budget" level. The added tax/fee is a deterrent to the many families presumably still watching tube TVs. If the gov really wanted to help the environment, and lower electricity demand, they would remove the fee for such "budget" level TVs to encourage the switchover. Budget-conscious families will stick with their old technology otherwise, so long as it still gets the job done, and that doesn't help the environment at all. Maybe the tax should be waived/refunded when a tube TV is handed over for proper recycling/disposal at the same time? That makes good sense to me.

Video game accessories are now 20% percent off so that includes ammibos. They don't consider them toys.

Hmmm 20% not too bad, but still not as good as TRU's Buy one get one 40%.

I'll wait, I don't think anyone is going to be rushing to Target to buy a Mario amiibo X___X.
