$214.99 - 10% should be $193.49 which makes it an even better deal

Yup good catch, I've updated the post. I think the cheapest I've ever seen it was $199+tax from Best Buy during last year's boxing day sale.

Isn't the Seagate Expansion one easier for opening to put into the system itself?

Can I get two of these, just strip out the drive and mirror them in an array?

The Backup Plus is a bit more expensive.. has the extra two USB 3.0 ports on the front and has cloud storage software. The Seagate Expansion is easier to open and use as an internal hard drive, but I think both have the same internal drive. I believe the Backup Plus has a 2 year warranty and the Expansion has a 1 year warranty. (which is voided if you open it up)

Think I'm gonna pop on the 8tb expansion, wonder if I can swap in a 3tb into the enclosure and use that for my backup ha

Most of these Seagate externals have their Shingled drives in them. Their write speeds are bad and they don't play nice in arrays. They're meant for archiving and occasional reading, not an array setup really.

I got the one from Best Buy too during their Boxing Day sale; otherwise I would definitely buy this one here.
