DELL 2209WA End of Life?
I was getting curious about the DELL 2209WA since it has not been available to buy for the last little while, was hoping DELL would put it back on their days of deals. I contacted both DELL home and small business sales and inquired about the monitor, both reps told me that the model is end of life and they will no longer be selling it. This seems like a pretty small life span for such a popular monitor, however I have heard that DELL surpassed all orders for the quarter and reps have been told to not sell anymore until supply replenishes. They now have a new model that looks almost like the 2209WA buy uses a TN panel and not e-IPS, both reps referred me to that model as the updated version. Anyone hoping that DELL might bring these back for their deals might be out of luck. The first pic is the 2209WA the 2nd is the new model.

I'm using it right now and I just can't say enough good things about it. Try looking here in the FS section or on craigslist or kijiji. Sometimes there are ppl who have NIB monitors for sale.

It would be a huge shame if the 2209WA dies off. It's pretty much the best monitor in the $300 range.

This is very unfortunate if true. Without this 2209WA the monitor market really sucks because buying affordable only means choosing from the hundreds upon hundreds of crap TN panels out there.
I missed this deal twice already and looks like I'll never see something like it anytime soon

I have one and I was waiting for a deal on a second one as well. It is by far the best image quality monitor one can buy for under $300. Absolute shame if they discontinue it so far. By the demand, they should be looking forward to ramping up production.

And you can get a 2209WA anymore so anything under 24" is pretty much screwed.

Also looking for a good LCD so I can have a dual monitor setup... Why is it so hard to find 20"-22" non-TN panels? I don't mind spending ~$300 on each as long as it is a quality product!
It's frustrating to find positive reviews on a model and then find out its discontinued or they changed the panels on it or whatever. ugh
