Do you find you get tons of ultrawide support for games?therave39 wrote: ↑ In the past I've had issues with 10%OFFMONITOR working for Alienware branded products, however if you call in you will be able to get a salesperson to apply the coupon with a manager exception.
I got this monitor a few months ago for $1303.45 after ON taxes (13%), and it's absolutely gorgeous. If anyone has any questions let me know.

I don't think its possible to push 4k at such a high refresh rate. 4k is 3,840 x 2,160 which is 8294400 total pixels, 4k at 120hz means 120 refreshes/seconds of 8294400 pixels, which is the equivalent of 995,328,000 pixel refreshes/second. That's almost 1 billion pixels being recalculated per second, I don't think even a GTX 1080TI can handle such a output. It's better to get 1440p at 120hz, which is some what more feasible.

I currently use a GTX 1070ti and I play Fortnite, Overwatch and PUBG on it. I've had no issues at all. I don't really max out my settings but I'm fully capable of running those games at a full 120fps. GTX 1080ti would be much better, but I'm waiting for the next gen 11 series to upgrade.
Unit doesn't have speakers built in, but has a USB 3.0 Hub and audio jack.
If anyone that's ordered it. The box is HUGE. It wouldn't fit in my car. I had to pick it up from Purolator with my van, and I drive a hatchback.

GSync drives up the cost, if you've seen similar panels for less, those are definitely not GSync

Hmmm, I'm trying to figure out if this is worth $170 more than the AOC AG352UCG.

In short, everything is incorrect about this post. This is the lowest price it has ever been in Canada. No other brands except Acer have the same specs (x34p I believe), and it isn't cheaper, certainly not 900$. This is considered pretty much the best cream of the crop you can buy for an 3440x1440 ultrawide. Also, 4k has little to do with ultrawides in this respect, and aren't really being focused on until later this year (a couple are becoming available). Not only that but the current video cards don't have the headroom to do a 4K Ultrawide with high performance, a 4k Ultrawide say for gaming right now would not be attractive to most for this reason.
20hz, 2ms response time difference, IPS over MVA/VA panel (to many, this is the deal breaker), better warranty, arguably better quality control. I personally think so, considering the divide is usually much more than this. Though certainly you're paying for bleeding edge at this point.

Depends what you prefer. The main difference is VA vs IPS. The 20 more hertz is also considerable. You also have speakers on the AOC if that's something you're looking for lol.
Honestly if you're after an IPS panel, I wouldn't mind throwing 170 more bucks... You're already in the market for a 1000$+ monitor... so unless you're tight on your budget, don't make compromises; this sale is worth it and you'll probably keep this monitor for at least 5+ years! At least, that's what I'm planning on lol
If you want a VA panel though, go for it, it's 170 bucks cheaper.

Thanks. I already have the AOC. I was thinking of giving it to my son. But I was wondering if I might as well just keep it.ShinConker wrote: ↑ Depends what you prefer. IPS panel alone was the only reason I decided to go with this monitor. Colour accuracy is a bigger deal for me than gaming, as I focus mainly on creative content. I came from a 4K 28" 60hz panel, and this was my first experience with 100hz+ monitor. Also, the 3 year warranty is phenomenal. I just got into gaming so this is fairly new to me.

You could be right and I would assume half people here wouldn't even be able to push this monitor to 120fps either. I have 43" 4K @ 60hz. Maxed out @ 4k I am typically seeing about 45-60fps on gtx1080 @ Far Cry 5 or say Assassin Creed Origins) , which is enough for me( I am not a gamer)theogplug wrote: ↑ I don't think its possible to push 4k at such a high refresh rate. 4k is 3,840 x 2,160 which is 8294400 total pixels, 4k at 120hz means 120 refreshes/seconds of 8294400 pixels, which is the equivalent of 995,328,000 pixel refreshes/second.
